"I'm so glad you're okay", "we all missed you", "how are you doing", "if you need anything we're all here for you", that was what Estrella heard from the girls when she arrived at the club with the Devil by her side protectively. The girls even bought her a dozen red roses to welcome her back, which moved her to tears. They sat on her makeup desk, wrapped in a pink wrapping. The club was packed, which made Estrella's job more difficult, but Sasha agreed to serve drinks while Estrella made them just so she didn't have to limp around the club all night. Lucifer was behind the bar with her, sitting on a stool so he was out of the way but Estrella kept getting distracted by him. Maybe because he wouldn't shut up.
"I should confess something to you."
"I'm not a priest and this is not a confession box, Lucifer." Estrella said while making a whiskey sour for an older gentleman.
"Oh, yes because I look like the type to confess my sins."
Estrella approached the bar and slid the man his drink.
"Here you go, sir."
"Thank you, babygirl." he said then leaned over the bar and stuffed a ten-dollar bill down her cleavage before walking away.
Lucifer's blood began to boil, he was getting aggravated watching these disgusting humans flirt with her and call her sweet names. She turned towards him, watching him eye the man that just walked away. If looks could kill, that man would have died before he took his first step. She knew she had to keep him distracted just so he didn't lose his temper like he did with Matthew. It was ridiculous to babysit the Devil.
"Just tell me, Lucifer."
He had almost forgotten what he wanted to say, all he could think about was that prick. He looked at her, coming back to reality after fantasying the things he could do to that human. The possibilities were endless! It's been a while since he's tortured a human, it was satisfying to do so. He loved the way they begged for mercy, cried, and stared at him in fear. He felt so powerful.
"One of the girls you work with is possessed by a demon, even one of the men."
"Who?" she exclaimed.
"The bartender regularly, I think her human name is Kristina. And then that man over there." Lucifer said, pointing to a man that stood by the entrance with his arms folded across his chest. Estrella studied his face, he looked like he was miserable.
"Wow, so you have been watching me?"
"Yes, I have and it's a good thing too because they were the ones who came to get me after the supposed accident," he replied and watched as she shook her head in disapproval. "what?"
"Why didn't you tell me I was working with demons?""Because I knew how you would react." Lucifer said.
"Excuse me!" shouted a man from the bar. Estrella jumped slightly, turning around to see a younger man waiting impatiently. "I've been standing here for ten minutes listening to you talk to yourself. Are you insane?"
"Sorry sir, just on the phone," Estrella lied quickly. The man looked very confused. "Bluetooth. What can I get for you?"
"Four beers, if you can manage that."
Lucifer clenched his teeth together and watched Estrella limp to the minifridge, since her back was turned he could get up and severely harm this boy without her noticing but he knew he needed to try to behave while on Earth. Even though he was finding it extremely hard to do.
"Here you go, I'm sorry about the wait," she said apologetically. She handed the man his beers and he stormed off without a "thank you", "have a nice day", or simply just a "fuck you". She exhaled heavily. "you're distracting me, Lucifer."
