"Your soul is split, my son."
Lucifer looked at his father's tall silhouette with a puzzled look on his perfect sculptured face.
"What do you mean by that?"
His father came to an easy halt then turned towards him to speak directly to his face.
"When I created you I created you with only half of your soul," his father explained in a gentle voice. "when the time comes someone will be created with your other half and you will know."
"Am I the only one you've done this to?" Lucifer interrogated in a panic. He was scared of who this person could be and he was apprehensive, what if they didn't like him?
"No, I done it to all of your brothers."
Lucifer turned to overlook the crystal blue water that flowed under the bridge he stood on with his father.
"When will this happen?" he asked. "I know you know when it will."
"I do. When it does you will know, the affect on you will be overwhelmingly powerful. Until then, just be patient Lucifer."
The screams of tortured souls echoed above Lucifer's head as he paced back and forth in his kingdom of torment. His mind was occupied with thoughts, he no longer heard Abaddon and Barley bickering at each other over theories of what was wrong with him. This all begun hours ago when Lucifer noticed something odd about himself, he was experiencing excruciating headaches, nausea and he felt anxious and no demon nor himself could figure out why. The entire kingdom was on edge, waiting for their king to fall right before their eyes. There was even talk of who would rise in his place.
"We all know who's behind this, Abaddon!" Barley roared. "I'll gather my legion and go make them pay."
"That's very good idea, let's make sure they know he's weak when they may not be behind this!" Abaddon yelled back.
Barley rolled his eyes, the hatred he had for Abaddon was unexplained.
"I don't hear you giving out theories."
Lucifer couldn't think with these two arguing.
"Both of you shut up, I'm trying to think!"
"My apologies, my lord." Barley bowed his head submissively and in respect but Lucifer no longer paid attention to them.
"Can't you think of anything, brother?"
Lucifer came to a halt in his pacing and turned to face Abaddon, he saw the blank expression engraved on his long face but his eyes told another story he didn't bother reading.
"No I can't, I've went over everything but nothing makes sense."
Abaddon thought multiple times about this question before letting it escape between his full lips.
"Can you think of anything dad has said in the past that may be helpful?"
"Dad helpful?" Lucifer's laughter echoed throughout the large oval shaped room made of marble and stone. But Lucifer's laughter died, Abaddon's question made him remember his father's words clearly. "did he ever tell you about your soul?"
"No," Abaddon replied. He was utterly confused. "didn't know I had one?"
Lucifer began to approach his desk and throne. His steps were quiet and at a steady pace. His long splintery desk was very old, the black paint was beginning to chip away but his black throne was in very good condition. He sat down and beckoned his two idiots to come forward.
