Lucifer's Other Half

TWENTY SIX

Estrella hurried back to the bar, wiping her tears away with her fingertips. Sasha was stressed out with the customers so when Estrella returned she was immediately put to work, while also trying to calm herself down.

"Where did that handsome guy go?" Sasha interrogated, grabbing a bottle of vodka. Estrella shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't know," she mumbled. "but I have a feeling he's the type to just disappear. I probably wouldn't get my hopes up on seeing him again."

"Why do you feel that way?"

Estrella shrugged her shoulders and turned around to see Lucifer standing by the stool again with his arms folded across his chest, his face was emotionless in the lights that flashed erotically.

"He has a dickish attitude, I think." Estrella replied while staring directly at Lucifer. Luckily Sasha didn't even notice her uneasy glare.

"Maybe you're right, I just wish I had the chance to get to know him better."

Estrella didn't say anything but went about her business, giving gentleman and ladies their drinks while Lucifer watched her cautiously. Did he believe that she truly hated him? No, he didn't, he couldn't believe it while knowing they were soulmates. She couldn't hate him, right? She was just pissed off about Jenna and Michael, that was all. But he did know she was most likely blaming him for a lot of things happening right now.

"My lord," said the bouncer from behind Lucifer. "we have a dilemma."

"What?" Lucifer asked with an angrily tone. The demon exhaled heavily.

"They're outside," he said. "they've been watching the place for quite some time now. I just spotted them but they don't know I did."

Lucifer hesitated at first, trying to think of a rational way to handle this but he was so angry about what happened in the bathroom he frankly didn't give a damn if what he was going to do was rational or not. He turned around and grasped the demon by the shirt, bringing him close to his face.

"Do not take your eyes off her, if anything happens to her while under your watch I will rip those eyes out of your fucking head. Do you understand me?"

The demon nodded fleetingly.

"Yes, my Lord. I understand perfectly clear."

Lucifer shoved the demon out of the way and marched to the front door, leaving Estrella defenseless. He pushed the door open roughly and glanced around the parking lot, spotting his sister lurking in the shadows almost immediately. She knew that he saw her, so she ran as fast as she could but Lucifer was right behind her. He was going to put an end to this now.

"I'll call a Taxi, Sasha. It's no big deal, honestly." Estrella said after changing into normal clothes to keep warm from the freezing air. They were heading outside to the parking lot.

"Are you sure?" Sasha asked, grabbing Estrella's arm to stop her in her tracks. Estrella smiled a reassuring smile.

"Yes, I'm sure, but thank you for picking me up!"

"No problem, I'm glad I could help a little bit," Sasha exclaimed then squeezed her into a tight hug. Estrella hugged her back before she pulled away. "see you soon!"

She watched Sasha approach her vehicle and get inside before she opened her purse to grab her cell phone, that's when someone grasped her arm and she screamed in fright.

"Shush!" the male bouncer whispered harshly. She looked up at him, trying to recall his name but it wasn't coming to her. "I'm a demon, don't worry."

She jerked her arm away and stepped back, overlooking him before asking;

"What do you want?"

"Lucifer left not long ago and he left me in charge to keep an eye on you," he explained and paused for a moment when she began to look confused. She didn't know that Lucifer had left, but she guessed that would explain why he's been silent and behaving. "he went after his sister. I need to get you back to your house, you're not taking a Taxi."

"Whoa wait!" Estrella gasped when he grabbed her arm again and began pulling her towards a wall. "what do you mean he went after his sister?!"

"There's no time to explain, I have to get you home now!"

She let him drag her to the brick wall without protest because she was frightened that Michael or others were around here. He pulled her through the wall and as soon as she blinked, she was standing in her living room. Everything seemed in place and calm, but the demon was frantic. He released her hand and hurried to the back door, opening it and whistling loudly for the others attention. She was frozen in place, trying to comprehend all of this but all she kept thinking about was Lucifer had gone after the Angel of Death and she didn't understand how dangerous that could be.

"I need you to get Abaddon right now," the demon commanded. "Lucifer has gone after the Angel of Death. We must prepare for whatever happens now!"

She dropped her purse on the couch and sat down, feeling her heart pound in fear. What if he was captured, hurt, or worst; dead? The thought of him being dead made her throat tighten and her eyes water. If Lucifer had been killed, what did that mean for her and the future ahead of her? It didn't take Abaddon long to manifest in her living room, he was concerned about his brother and demanded the demon to tell him everything he knew. Estrella was still in shock, processing everything while staring at the carpet.

"She's been quiet since we got here." The demon pointed out, nodding towards Estrella. Abaddon turned his concentration towards her and exhaled softly before approaching her.

"Estrella, are you alright?"

She kept silent for what seemed like an eternity before she opened her mouth and said;

"Where is he?"

"I don't know," Abaddon replied truthfully and the tone in his voice tried to comfort her. "but we will wait for him."

"I don't want to wait for him!" she shouted, springing upwards from the couch and bawling her fists. "I want someone to find him now!"

Abaddon looked at the demon apprehensively and they both knew they would have a challenge with her.
