a/n: lol editing? idk her :)

i stayed at hyungwon's for about an hour after his confession before walking to hoseok's. hyungwon offered to give me a ride there but i told him i was fine, mostly so i'd have more time to think about what hyungwon told me.

by the time i had reached hoseok's house, i knew what i was gonna tell hyungwon the next time i saw him.

i knocked on hoseok's front door and he opened it seconds later, smiling when he saw it was me.

"if you arrived one minute later, i would've died of loneliness and boredom." he wrapped his arm around me as we walked upstairs to his room.

i rolled my eyes with a small laugh. "you're too dramatic."

he laughed with me for a few seconds.

when we reached his room, we laid down on his bed next to each other, facing the ceiling and listening to music.

"so how was your time at hyungwon's?" hoseok asked after a minute of us just laying there.

i could feel my cheeks start to heat up just at the mention of the boy who had confessed to me.

"oh, i-it was fine."

i could hear the movement of hoseok's head turning to look at me. from what my peripheral vision told me, he had a questioning look on his face.

"okay." he mumbled after turning his head back to face the ceiling. "what did you guys do?"

"we just... just talked... about random stuff, nothing important."

"hyunmi, are you-"

"oh!" i sat up on the bed with a big grin on my face as i turned to look at my best friend. "i met somi!"

hoseok's eyes widened as he, too, sat up, facing me. "you did? please tell me you didn't tell her i like her or anything."

i rolled my eyes with a sigh. "who do you think i am? i would never!" he smiled softly at me. "anyway, she seems super nice! she's so friendly, and i think she's good enough for you."

his smile widened. "i'm so glad you think so, because i was thinking of asking  her out soon."

"good luck, i'm sure it will go well."

we both laid back down, and the music that was playing was all that was heard while my mind traveled to hyungwon.

hoseok and i had fallen asleep until his mom came home and woke us up for dinner. after eating, we went downstairs to his basement to watch tv for awhile.

i wasn't really paying attention to what was on the tv. instead, i was on my phone, scrolling through my social media. but of course, nothing interesting was there either.

"hyunmi, we should go to bed early." hoseok spoke up from beside me; he sounded tired.

i looked at the time on my phone before turning to face him. "dude, it's only a little after 9."

he sighed and looked at me with a slight pout. "i know but i'm tired," he paused as his pout turned into a grin. "and i want cuddles."

i thought for a second, processing what he had said. "hoseok, isn't a little... strange that we cuddle?"

he shifted his whole body to face me, tilting his head a little bit, like a confused puppy. "what do you mean?"

i shrugged and let out a soft sigh. "i don't know, lately i just feel like maybe we are a bit weird. i really don't know of any other best friends that are like us. i just-"

"did hyungwon say something to make you feel like this?" i could hear slight anger in hoseok's voice when he cut me off. "you've never been like this before."

"no, it wasn't hyungwon." i looked down at my hands. "i shouldn't have said anything, i'm sorry."

hoseok sighed and scooted closer to me, pulling one of my hands into his own and rubbing the back of it softly. "no, don't feel like you can't tell me how you feel or anything. it just kind of hurt to hear you say what everyone else says."

i looked up at him, and i felt a pang of guilt hit my chest when we made eye contact and i could honestly see the pain in his eyes.

i opened my mouth to apologize again, but he shushed me before i could start speaking.

"let's just go up to bed."

we got up off of the floor and walked up to his room, still holding hands, causing his mom to give us a strange look when we passed by her.

when we got up to his room, he gave me a t-shirt and a pair of sweatshorts to change into, and after i finished changing we laid down in his bed, on nearly opposite sides of the bed.

"hoseok?"

"yeah?"

"can we cuddle?"

instead of speaking, he moved closer to me while simultaneously pulling me closer to him. he nuzzled his face into my neck, and i felt his soft breath on my skin, and it was one of the most soothing feelings.
