Luna looks to the southern gate of the square looking for Ruben to appear. I turn and give my attention back to the square crier. He is now shouting something about the recent assassination of the nixie prime minister bringing about an even greater sense of tension and unease between the water nixies and the drenched east coast communities.
"I'm honestly surprised dad hasn't been called in to settle the situation on the east coast yet." I remark to Luna.
"Yeah. That kind of stuff is right up his alley."
"I wonder if he will ever offer to handle it." I say.
"Maybe he's waiting for us to be able to help him out on the mission."
"That would be cool." I agree.
"What would be cool?" Ruben asks after approaching without making a sound.
"Aaaughhhh!" Luna and I exclaim out of surprise.
"Ruben, don't sneak up on us like that." Luna protests.
"Sorry." He replies.
"We were just saying how cool it would be to join dad in a job." I reply to Ruben's earlier question.
"That would be incredibly awesome." Ruben eagerly agree's.
"Well, do you have everything on your part of the list?" I ask him.
"Yeah and I even made a possible connection for next time." He tells Luna and I.
"Good to hear. Now lets find somewhere quiet to cast the return home spell before the weather gets worse." I say.
While the dragons shopped and talked, the weather had been slowly and surely been growing worse and the winds picking up. Tents were now starting to flap in the increasing gusts. Unattended stacks of crates had started falling over. Shoppers and sellers alike were rapidly packing up their affairs with the skills and practice of years of similar storms blowing in unexpectedly.
While the dragons moved though the storm torn market, they were trying to come up with a possible location for the spell. The library was out due to them not wanting to leave a mess for some librarian to clean up. They also decided that the park was not an option. Too exposed to the storm and the odds of prying eyes were to high. They eventually decided to rent a room at an inn and do the spell there. No eyes, safe from the storm and the maid could clean the floor real quick in the morning.
The first tavern-inn they find is called the 'Heated hearth". The outside looked well maintained with new coat of paint on its aged yet sturdy wooden plank walls. It had three floors and looked large enough to comfortably accommodate several dragons if they shrunk themselves down to reasonable sizes. We open the door and the warmth and noise of the inn washes over us.
