We flew through the tunnels at top speed to the exam hall.

"It's a good thing the exam is all written because I'm beat," I said.

"We are so late," Ruben growled.

Emeron didn't waste his breath with small talk. He just sped up.

"We are so sorry!" I say as we fly into the exam room and find our desks. The professor glaring at us for our tardiness.

"Do you have a good reason for your tardiness?"

"We have a reason but you will have to tell us if it's a good reason."

"Fair enough. Let's here this alleged reason."

"We were helping Ruben with his close combat outside and we lost track of time"

"That reason is acceptable. You shall start the written exam now, by the time you are done with that you should be rested enough to do the magic control test and the close combat mastery test."

"Thanks for practicing with me Emeron. You too, Luna." Ruben says with a tone of gratitude.

"Quiet. The exam is beginning now."

We work in silence for four hours on writing our exam answers. Sometimes I wonder if the exam is just a patience test, I'm just glad I can hold my chalk, Ruben is fumbling his nearly constantly and Emeron finished a while ago. I wonder what he is doing now. I find out after I'm done with my exam. Emeron is making lunch for the rest of us in the nearby cafeteria.

"Hey, how do you think you did?" he asks.

"I think I did pretty well, Ruben better get a better grip on his chalk." I reply.

"I wanted to make lunch since I'm sort of the reason we lost track of time and didn't have time for breakfast."

"I don't think that was anybodies fault, just bad luck."

"Probably, I just hope it didn't follow us into the exam room. I want to go home, if we don't pass we have to be here another trimester to relearn what we missed on the exam."

"That would really bite."
