"Don't lick the window Emil," Lukas scolded his little brother. The Icelandic boy pouted at him, desperate for a bite of food.
"But I'm hungry!"
"It doesn't matter, don't lick the window," Emil turned around and stomped his way to the shelter.
"Lukas," Berwald poked the Norwegian boy. Said child turned around to acknowledge his other sibling.
"Where's Mathias?" He facepalmed, rolling his midnight blue irises to express his irritation towards the missing Danish child.
"Probably chasing after another cat. I hope we don't have to look for him again," Berwald grunted in agreement.
"Wherever he is, I hope he brings us back some food!" Tino chanted, earning nods from Lukas and Berwald.

"Just a few more steps, and you'll be called the best brother ever," Mathias spoke to himself as he jogged towards the alleyway. Nearing the corner, he exerted his strength and ran.
***
"Lukas?"
"What?" He replied in frustration.
"I hear footsteps," Tino started to shake in fear.
"Hva?"
"I'm serious, I hear footsteps."
Lukas, Berwald, and Tino each picked up a plank of wood, walking towards the sound.
"Hey, guys!" Mathias strolled in with the bag.
"HIYAAAAAAAAHHH!"
***
SMACK!
A plank of wood slapped the Danish boy's bottom, throwing the pastries across the alleyway.
"Oh, it's you," Lukas and Tino dropped their weapons. Berwald however, still had his equipped.
"Why did you leave?" Berwald spoke in an icy tone. Mathias shivered in fear, scared to get another painful smack.
"I got food." Berwald dropped his plank and sighed.
"Did I just hear someone say FOOD?" Emil jumped out of the shelter and skidded across the snow to the paper bag. Lukas took responsibility, opening the package.
"Bror, you got us bread," Lukas started to cry.
"And butter as well."
"BUTTER!?!" Lukas shuffled his hands some more, touching a plastic tub. Taking it out, he kissed it.
"I missed you," Lukas ripped off the lid and paper, admiring the smooth and velvety surface of the dairy product.
"My brother is weird," Emil rolled his eyes as he chewed a piece of bread. Berwald nodded as he took a small bite out of the cinnamon bun.
The four other Nordic children happily munched on their goods. Lukas swabbed another piece of bread into his butter.
"How come you're not eating Mathias?" Tino inquired.
"I had two slices of æblekage when I came to pick this up," Mathias explained, with Lukas shooting him a dirty look.
"I bet you had coffee as well," The Norwegian boy spat out. Mathias shook his head and laughed.
The four boys continued to eat in silence until Mathias interrupted them.
"Where's my thank you hug?" Mathias spread out his arms to receive hugs. Only Tino and Emil gave him hugs.
"Awww, Tak! How about you guys?" Mathias glanced at Berwald and Lukas, who were snickering.
"What?"
"You don't deserve one," Berwald spoke. The Danish boy grew indignant.
"Until you get us a house, we will give you a hug," Lukas added in response.
"Then I shall find you a house!" And Mathias jogged off into the town, leaving behind four shocked brothers.
