"So, you were raised in the slums," Leo stated, leaning forward in the chair so he could look me in the eyes. Well, forward and up. At about five foot nine, he was a bit smaller than me.

"No," I replied, watching him, specifically his eyes.

The color didn't change.

"Right, and both of your parents loved you. Very very much which is why your violent behavior is strange."

"No," I said, fighting to keep back of a sigh.

He nodded, resting his head on his fingers now.

He had no idea if I was lying or not and I had no idea of how to train that. It was aggravating to admit but it was the truth.

"And you had a pet dog named Rosey because his fur naturally grew pink."

This time I really did sigh.

"This is getting us no where," Tori said from the side of the room.

For the first session, I let her and Kyan stay in the room to watch his progress and see if they picked up any signs I couldn't. There was also the fact of Tori being worried that Leo, or the 'magician would spike me in the back of the head with something', in Tori's words. Clearly my show from earlier was next to useless.

"Well I  can't help it!" Leo yelled, dropping his forehead onto the metal table. "I don't even know what I'm supposed to do."

"And neither do any of us," Kyan deadpanned. "In case you haven't noticed, we're not magicians."

"Under normal circumstances," I started, "how can you tell if someone intends to hurt you?"

He shrugged. "I look at them. I need to be looking at the person I want to focus on and then it just happens."

"Do you focus on their words or their expression or something else entirely?"

His face contorted almost like he was in pain. "Well usually when your friends wanted to shoot me they wouldn't say anything and I really tried not to look at them because I really didn't wanna watch myself get shot so not expression either."

"It's safe to assume your magic sets a certain field around you, then. If it doesn't work with a silencer that means your magic physically leaves your body however, it has nothing to do with your vision despite the color fluctuations in your eyes." I turned to Kyan. "Get me something to cover his eyes with."

Kyan didn't question me as much as he did, but I still got those pointed expressions. He sighed and moved away from where he was leaning against the counter.

"What're we trying now, Ice Queen?"

I turned back to the magician. "Instead of focusing on what I look like or what I'm saying I want you to focus on what you feel."

He smirked at me. "Can I try touching you- I'm sorry! Please don't throw a mini fit."

"Alright."

His eyebrows shot up.

"Here," Kyan said, coming up next to me.

He handed me a roll of gauze.

I gave him a look.

"This is a normal lab," he answered, a sigh in his voice, "not your Wonderland. We don't keep blindfolds in our cabinets."

I stood up and put myself behind Leo before carefully wrapping around his eyes.

He was quieter now, like an animal who's face had been covered. But it was different now. Now I could feel his body tensing.

"Alright," I said, keeping my voice down.
