"It's stopped," said Flames.

They turned to look at him.

"What's stopped?" said Annmarie.

"The talking. The Fuzzy Guy who was giving them the huge lecture... he just quit talking all together. It's quiet."

"Let me hear," said Rick. He walked to the wall and pressed his ear to it; the muttering that had been emanating from it earlier had vanished.

"See, nothing," said Flames.

"Hmm."

"Do you think they're leaving?" said Adam.

"Maybe." He strained his hearing; it did nothing to help his situation. "Or maybe they know we're here."

"That's impossible," said Adam. "They don't have any security cameras out here, do they?" He glanced around and above his head. There was nothing there but the hundreds of bricks that held together the structure of the building.

"Maybe they're improved their technology so well that they've rendered their cameras invisible," said Rick.

He scoffed. "No way."

"All right, unbeliever. What do you propose we do now?"

"I don't think our situation’s changed much since they stopped talking."

"No, all it's done is made us argue more." He stopped. "Wait. What if that's what they want? To split us up! They're dividing and conquering."

"They don't know we're here, remember?"

"Keep up the talking and they will," said Annmarie.

The four of them were silent, and minutes went by as they waited for something to happen. Sadly, the only thing that occurred was a bird flying into a light pole and falling to the ground, presumably dead.

"This is fun," muttered Flames.

"Just wait," said Adam. "Something's bound to happen."

"Maybe they're locking up for the night and they're going to bed."

"It's two in the afternoon."

"Heck, that was my bedtime when I was four. It's a plausible scenario."

Annmarie started to laugh, and then abruptly stopped when she saw the look on Flames' face.

A second later, there was a deafening crash from inside the building. They jumped, and they heard one of the Fuzzy Guys swear - audible even without an ear pressed to the wall.

"Oh," said Flames uncomfortably.

"We're ready!" said a different Fuzzy Guy. "Everyone in."

Crash!

"Schroeder! What did I tell you about doing that?"

"Sorry, boss," said another voice, squeakier and obviously abashed.

"Don't do it again. Are you ready?"

"Yes."

"Then let's go."

There was a sudden bang as a large door on the other side of the wall slammed open. The group of four scattered to hide themselves completely as a car, completely packed with Fuzzy Guys armed with what looked like weirdly shaped guns, headed out into the open. They could hear them cackling as they drove off into the distance. One of them threw their gun into the air, and unfortunately caught it. A few of his friends laughed. It would have been joyous if they weren't off to murder and destroy.
