Scott's knee bounced as he stared at the wall in the waiting room, trying to keep himself calm.

He just had to keep reminding myself that he had gotten there in time. Mitch was safe now. He just had to get out of surgery.

"Scott?"

He looked up, standing as Kevin moved towards him, tear tracks down his face. Todrick was behind him, looking solemn as well as Kevin embraced Scott.

"How is he?" Kevin asked.

"I don't know," Scott replied, realizing how hoarse his throat was. "He's not out of surgery yet."

"Surgery? What did that psycho do to him?" Todrick asked, sitting down with Kevin.

Sighing, Scott fell back into his original chair. "I don't know. They said something about a lot of internal bleeding, and broken bones."

"Damn," Todrick muttered, wrapping his arms around Kevin as he buried himself into him. "Freakin hate him."

"Ralph won't be an issue anymore though," Scott informed them, making Kevin's gaze snap to him.

"What? Why?" He asked urgently.

"I knocked him out, and then the police were able to arrest him," Scott said, looking back at the door they had wheeled Mitch through. "With the assault...the threats in the apartment, breaking into her trailer..." Sighing he closed his eyes. "With all of it, the detective said Ralph shouldn't be out of jail any time soon..."

"Thank god," Kevin whispered, smiling as he looked to Todrick.

"Mr. Hoying?"

Scott immediately stood, moving towards the doctor with Kevin and Todrick. "Is Mitch alright?"

"We were able to stop the bleeding, and repair his broken ribs," he informed them all. "He needs rest though, and we need to keep him a few days, keep an eye on his head and his ribs."

Kevin smiled, embracing Todrick and Scott stepped forward. "Can we see him?"

The doctor nodded, smiling. "This way."

Scott followed the man to a secluded room, letting out a sigh of relief as he saw Mitch sleeping in the bed. Moving to his side, he grasped his hand tightly, feeling himself calm down by just being near him.

"When will he wake up?" Kevin asked.

"It could be tomorrow or tonight," the doctor informed them. "We don't know, but we're going to keep him in this room until we know he's awake and healthy."

Scott nodded to the doctor as he left, moving one of the chairs to Mitch's bed side. Taking his hand, Scott kissed it softly.

"I'm gonna go call his parents," Kevin said, before leaving the room.

Scott watched Mitch breathe slowly, leaning back in his chair. Glancing out the window, he smiled as the sun slowly started to rise. He had been lucky, the nurses allowing him to stay, as he was his boyfriend, and no other family was close. To be honest, Scott just would have sat outside the hospital is they had kicked him out.

Reaching out, he took Mitch's hand, kissing it gently. "You asked me what I thought your biggest flaw was, Da Vinci," he whispered, looking at his hands, running his eyes over the lines of his hands. "I...I don't know what brought it on, and that scares me...but...I think you're too kind. You trust people too easily and too much...and in the end it hurts you. And...I don't want you hurt, Mitch."

"I'm sorry."

Scott looked up, smiling instantly as Mitch smiled at him. "Mitch, how are you feeling?" He asked moving to cup his cheek gently.
