His chestnut coloured fringe flopped over one of his emerald green eyes in his haste to see what Lily had in her hand. He also had a straight nose, freckles and rounded glasses like his father which he only wore when necessary, as James took every chance possible to tease him. James’ pet crup, Snuffles, bounded into the kitchen and started lapping up the cereal but Albus was too excited to notice. Lily came running into the kitchen with her lilac Pygmy puff, Dixie, cradled in one arm and a thick dusty envelope clutched tightly in her other hand. ‘It’s got your name on it Al, and a big red waxy thing on the front. I think it’s from Hogwarts!’ Albus gave an excited jump and took the envelope from his younger sister with shaking hands. There was no doubt that this letter was from Hogwarts. He turned it over with his heart in his mouth and tore open the seal. Inside was a thick roll of parchment. He had never been so excited in his life- this was it. He put his hand in to pull it out but James appeared before he could do anything.
