“Come here Rose?” coaxed Al “I’ve found something that might come in handy at school.” He winked at George. Pulling Rose forwards, he led Rose a few steps forward to a row full of vintage styled boxes. Looking weathered yet intriguing, Rose stepped towards the stand and traced their packaging, itching to grab one and rip open it's faded exterior. She realised now that the boxes weren't old in the slightest, but had been styled to fit the 'old-fashioned sweet shop' style of the whole store.

A creaking sign above them read: 'Skiving Snackboxes, to get off those unwanted lessons'. Rose paced up and down, running her finger along rows of boxes. They were labelled- Nosebleed Nougat, Puking Pastils, Fainting Fancies, and a new looking jinxed jellies (a random and amusing jinx, guaranteed you a quick rush to the hospital wing. Never know what is coming.) She turned over a box and scanned the instructions slowly "Chew the orange end to make you ill, and the purple to cure you" Rose read out loud to Albus, who looked as if all his dreams had come true.

"So that's how James got off his potions exam..." sighed Albus. "I never understood why Mum went to mad. Just wait until I can skive as well." Rose rolled her eyes again, but instead of expressing some feeling of rebellion she just stared. This was incredible magic, she had just realised how much immense skill must have been needed to invent such products, and suddenly her respect for Uncle George grew. Not bad for someone who just scraped 3 owls.

“How much for these?” Albus was asking George, holding out an outstretched arm. He was holding a shining box of Puking Pastilles. “2 galleons, 5 knuts each. But family has special privileges of course" Rose and Albus exchanged hopeful glances, anticipating a discount. " For you two..." George continued "I'll knock off a Knut. How does that sound?"

Um... great. Rose stared at the sincere face of George as she stumbled to thank him without sounding rude. One KNUT? "Wow!" Rose said with as much enthusiam as she could muster." George paused, and then burst out laughing, roaring at their naivety. “Just joking of course. 50% off for family, all except Ron! He can pay full price." Albus and Rose grinned and began to stuff their arms with snackboxes, finally deciding to purchase an armful of pranks, sweets and fireworks in addition. Albus bought himself a little pocket sneakascope and- after some deliberation- Rose managed to tear her eyes away from the tempting love potion. "Stop being so stupid" she scolded herself "George said no."

After they had paid a grand total of 8 galleons and 6 sickles each, they returned to Lily and James also laden with goods, and their fathers chatting earnestly. After dealing with muggle money most of their lives in primary school, they found it hard to adjust to the new currency. She guessed the Galleon was roughly around £3, but wasn't exactly certain. As they walked out of the door and bade farewell to George, Rose felt happier than she had all day.
