Andrew exhaled sharply, throwing a hand in the air. "Oh, great, you went and spoiled it for her. Thanks a lot."
"Sorry, I forgot," said Emma, "but it's really not much of a surprise."
"Well it isn't now, thanks to you." He looked over at Amy, giving her hand a squeeze, a small smile crossing his face, but it was gone just as fast as it came. "Sorry baby."
She shrugged. "That's okay. No biggie. As long as we get to be near each other like this, that's better than any surprise." They exchanged a smile, both of them leaning in, their lips locking in a brief but tender kiss.
Michael and Emma turned right, stopping them in the foyer just outside the elevators. Michael stepped forward, pressing the button on the wall to summon the next one then stepping back behind her wheelchair.
Amy exchanged a look with Andrew, then craned her neck to look up at Michael and Emma. "So, do you think maybe, you know, since you're letting us out of bed to get some air...you guys can maybe push our beds together tonight too?"
