Marriage Series- He asks your dad for your hand in marriage

Whoa. I can't believe it, I've always been dreaming about this day. The day that I would ask a man to give up his princess so that she could become my princess. I knew I had to do it soon; they were going back to America in two days. [Y/N] had been homesick for a while so I arranged for her mom, dad and step dad plus her siblings to come to Ireland for spring break. It was a total surprise for her, she was crying with joy when they showed up at our house.

Once they had gone back to their hotel rooms she asked me "Why did you do that babe?".

"Well because, I love you and I know how hard you've been working at University to get your degree and I thought you needed a break." I said, "Plus I want to get to actually know them."

"Aww well thanks a lot babe" she said.

"Don't thank me but I know of way of you repaying me..." I said. "And what would that be?" she said looking at me biting her lip.

"Not to do any school work while they're here" I said, "I want you to have fun".

"Okay, just let me go and finish up a few assignments" she said then walked to the computer room to get to work.

The next day me and [Y/N] got up and met them in the hotel lobby. I took them around Mullingar and showed them the cool shops. The second day they we met up with my family (mom, step dad, dad and his girlfriend and Greg his wife and their child) it was pretty cool seeing all the parents getting along with each other. The rest of the week was spent going to castles and doing other touristy things in other parts of Ireland. Surprisingly I didn't mind it was thrilling to watch all of their faces light up at seeing the sights of Ireland, my homeland. I was happy that [Y/N] got to see more of Ireland, since I haven't had much time to show her the country. The next couple of days they would just come over and lounge around the house with us, her siblings even stayed over one night; that was interesting to say the least.

Now I had to put my wonderful plan into action. I asked her siblings in private to get [Y/N] away from me because I had a very important task to do.

The next thing I know I see [Y/N] walk in the bedroom "what's up?" I said.

"Nothing, um my siblings just wanted to go to some river downtown to spend some quality time with me is that okay?" she asked.

"Oh babe of course, I know you haven't seen them in almost a year go ahead." I said. While she was getting ready I slipped away to get her siblings numbers so that I could tell them when I was done. "Thanks guys" I said after, "and if you ever need anything now you have my number."

I texted my mom earlier to go and spend some time with [Y/N]'s mom; so now that left me her dad and her step dad. "Bye" was heard from five voices as they left the house. "Be careful!" I called. The door closed I know this was my time. "So..." I said, "anyone hungry?". They both agreed that food wouldn't be too bad right now. We all went to my car and I took them to my favorite Nando's location. We walked in, got placed at a table and given menus.

"Umm so how's the band doing?" her dad asked, trying to make conversation.

"Oh very Sir, we're actually going on tour in August, thanks for asking!" I replied. The waitress came to take our drink orders.

"Do you recommend the chicken or wings?" her step dad asked looking at the menu.

"Both are good Sir but I personally like the chicken better." He nodded and said "then I'll get the chicken. The waitress came back with our drinks and took our order.

This right here is where it got extremely awkward. I mean I guess since we don't live near each other it's hard to get to know them. "Well..." I said then start I feel my face start to radiate heat, like that time I ate a chili pepper because Harry dared me. They both looked at me with a strange face. I coughed and sipped some of my drink. "I actually arranged for everyone else to be taken somewhere today so that we could chat." I admitted to them. "I've been dating your lovely daughter for a year. I know that you both are extremely special to her and I was wondering if I c-c-c" I said stopping to take a breath to calm myself. "If I could have her hand in marriage" I said so fast that they look as if I just spoke Greek to them.

They look at each other "What did he say?" her dad asked her step-dad.

"I think he said something about her being hard to manage?" her step dad replied.

"No!" I said interrupting them, "I was wondering if I could have your daughters hand in marriage." I said slowly looking at my hands. I looked up to examine their reactions; they both have a slight smile on their faces.

"Is that why you flew all of us here?" her dad asked.

"Well..." I said, "it's a big part of it but I also wanted her to see you, she's been real homesick so she's been throwing herself into University to get her mind off of it I guess." I said to them.

"Well any man who will do this for his girlfriend gets a yes from me." her dad said.

"Well I would say this is happening really fast but me and her mom only dated for 3 months before we got engaged so yes!" her step dad said. They both shook my hands "welcome to the family!" they said.

"I think your forgetting something" I said.

"What?" they both replied; "Your daughter's answer!" I replied.

"Oh" they replied smiling and blushing a bit.

I was glad that I had their approval. Now the only thing that was left to do is asking her.
