'Just CHANGE Emmy...save yourself - you just can't risk your life for me it's not worth it, I'm not worth it!!' I gasp. I struggle to make the words leap from my lips because the psychopathic DarkLix has my neck in her cold, inhuman grasp. But how can I talk about being human? I'm a werewolf for Christs sake.
I love wolves, always have ever since I was small. I love the look of their sleek, soft fur and the way they streak through the forest, their strong paws thudding against the soft earth. But right now, I wish none of this had never happened - why me? Don't get me wrong I am glad I met Emmy...and Martha. Until her dark side kicked in. But now I am nearly dying in the hands of her... Even if it is her evil side...I'm not so sure.
'Just GO!! For gods sake Emmy - just do it. Change. For me?' Silent tears stream down my friends cheeks, her eyes full of hurt and regret as she hisses menacingly at DarkLix, changes and flies off into the dark sky.
'Your on your own now Katy, no-one to save you now - but the question is how shall I kill you?' DarkLix paused for a moment as if to think and then snarled,
'What about I change and rip your throat out? What about I just rip your limbs off one. By. One. Or I could make it a competition. Let the best wolf win'. She draws a long, lethal looking knife out of her belt and sits me up... I don't struggle. I know there's no point.
'Change. Now, or I'll slit your throat - we will fight. Wolf to wolf.' She smiles with a menacing and slightly crazed smile-but inside my heart lifts a little. I am strong. Maybe i stand a chance?
I close my eyes and concentrate, making no attempt to escape. And I feel a tingling in the tips of my fingers and toes and suddenly I'm a wolf. Changing is as easy as breathing now. I see DarkLix in her wolf form. Let the battle begin I think, as I lunge for her throat.
