Toriel closes the door behind me, a sad look on her face. The cold air blows across my face as I smile sadly at her. I'll be back for her, I promise that. Turning, I begin walking. A shiver runs down my back as I hug myself for warmth. Snow is all around me. You would never guess how cold it is here from in the Ruins. Slowly, I continue walking. Soon, I come to a stick. Should I pick it up? No, its too big and heavy. As I continue, I gasp as a loud crack comes from behinding. Spinning on my heels, I look at the stick. It was snapped like nothing! Maybe Toriel was right, maybe she will let me back in? I begin speed walking. Out of the corner of my eye, I spot a shadow. Breaking into a sprint, I start heading towards the bridge up ahead. Once I make it there, I freeze. A chill crawls up my back and I slowly turn.

No one.

No one is there. An exasperated sigh escapes me as I turn back to the bridge, crossing it. Still, I get this uneasy feeling I'm missing something. Tears try climbing their way out of my eyes, but I manage to choke them back down. Soon, I make it to a group of trees. Just past it is a clearing.

"Come on, Pap. Just try!" a voice says. My eyes widen. It sounds human! Quickly, I run through the trees, heading towards the clearing. "It's not hard, just close your eyes and picture yourself," the voice says again. It sounds like a boy, just a few years older than me. Once I break through the trees, I see him. He's a little taller than me, about four feet. He's standing in front of something, his body blocking my view. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees me. His eyes are a beautiful blue, bright and pure. Sighing, I collapse to the ground.

"Brother? What is it?" a small voice says.

"Stay behind me, Pap," he says, guarding the thing behind him. His right shines brighter than the other as he holds his hand out towards me. It doesn't seem like an offering, but more as a protective measure. Suddenly, I'm given the choice, just like in the Ruins. To fight, or show mercy. Quickly, I smack the mercy button. The boy stands there, shocked. The darkness hangs over us and I look away. "Who are you?" he asks in a demanding voice. What should I do? I can't talk, and I don't understand sign language. Looking at the snow, I ponder. Wait, the snow! Turning to him, I watch as he flinches. Leaning forward, I write in the snow, my name. F. R. I. S. K. "F-Frisk?" he asks, looking at me. I nod. He looks behind him, then back to me. "What are you?" he asks me. I shrug. Again, he looks behind him. What is back there? Who is back there? That Pap person? Suddenly, I sneeze and sniffle. He gasps, looking back at me. "Uh, a-are you cold?" he asks, looking my my shivering body. I nod. Quickly, he pulls off his jacket and throws it at me. "There put it on," he says. Eyes wide, I slide the giant thing on. Wow, this is surprisingly comfortable. And warm. A small smile covers my face and he sighs, shaking his head.

"Brother, what is in front of you? Is it an opponent?" the small voice from behind him says. His eyes widen, as do mine. "Wait, is a friend? Why did you give them your coat?" it continues. They shove the boy out of the way, only to reveal a skeleton. A monster. My heart stops as the skeleton's eyes widen. "Oh my! Who is that?" he cries, looking at me. "Sans, who is that?" he asks the boy, pulling on his sleeve.

"Papyrus, I said stay behind me!" he groans. Papyrus looks at me, smiling.

"Hello, fellow monster! I am the Great Papyrus! Nice to meet you!" he says, a big smile on his face and his hand out. He's so nice. Unlike all the monsters I've met, he is so kind. Slowly, I smile at him and shake his hand. Sans stares between us, eyes wide. "This is my brother, Sans! He's kind of lazy, but you have to love him," he says, whispering the last part to me. Turning, I smile at Sans. He scoffs and turns away. "Anyways, what are you doing here? Normally we don't see people so far from Snowden," Papyrus says, crossing his arms. My eyes widen as the memories from my eyes in the form of tears. Silently, I sob. Papyrus gasps, turning to Sans. "Oh no, what did I say?" he cries. Sans looks at me, walking over and resting a hand on my shoulder.
