Looking up, I throw Nightmare onto the ground. His heavy body crashes to the ground and I sigh, laying back onto Sans's messy bed. My eyes pull down on themselves and I struggle to stay awake. If I fall asleep, he might escape. Looking down at my chest, I rub spot where Nightmare punched me. Douche, who punched people in the boob? That's just rude. Resting my hands on my hips, I crack my knuckles.
"Ah, time to wait for the kiddo to meet Undyne," Sans sighs, popping in. His eyes land on Nightmare and I. "What the . . ." he says, trailing off. He looks like he's about to say something else, but I stop him by raising my hand to his face. The last thing I need right now is to see Ink.
"Don't you dare call him," I growl. Sans's eyes widen.
"Alright, fine. But why is a mass murder laying on my floor?" he asks.
"Well, I should probably start from the beginning . . ." I sigh.
"Summerize."
"Well, I'm hella mad at Ink for lying to me about Fairytale being a geno route, so I teleported to this really dark place and read the real Fairytale pages. Turns out the really dark place was Nightmare's world and we kind of had a battle. He punched me in the boob, I kicked him in the nuts, and eventually knocked him out. And I teleported here because I was not in the mood to deal with the douchebag named Ink," I rant, throwing my arms out. Sans nods his head, listening to everything I say. Once I'm finished, he lets out a long, exasperated sigh.
"I guess you could say Ink really blotted it up this time," he says, shrugging.
"I hate you," I respond, giggling.
"I know. Anyways, what are we going to do with Edgy Mc My Chemical Romance over here?" he says, kicking Nightmare. Looking at him, I shrug. Hadn't really thought that far ahead. Sans looks out his window. "Ok, let's get him down to the lab. No ones out there so we should be good," he says. Slowly, I nod.
"Wait, what about the human?" I ask.
"Oh, them? They got another hour or two till they meet Undyne, and or fight her," he shrugs. Nodding, I lift Nightmare up and drape his arm over my shoulder. Sans does the other and we start moving. He stops. "Wait, why don't we just teleport?" he asks. I stop.
"Good point," I say, closing my eyes. I teleport us to the lab and walk over, throwing Nightmare down on the floor again. Sans sighs, putting this hands in his pockets. Turning to Sans, I look at him. "Why did she reset?" I ask. He walks over to the corner of the room, sighing.
"It was an accident," he sighs.
"What was?" I ask, using my powers to make a cage for Nightmare.
"I killed her," he sighs. My eyes widen as a tear slides down his face. "I-I didn't mean to! She was just right there, and I . . . I saw her," Sans says, covering his face. Reaching over, he flinches from me. Something in my chest burns. Why would Sans's timeline switch from True Pacifist to Geno? This makes no sense! Someone would have to be messing with their papers, and the only ones who could do that would be, well, Ink and I. So unless Ink did something . . .
"It's ok, just tell me who you saw," I say.
"Chara!" he cries. That makes sense, but Chara doesn't take over until after a Geno route has already ran. So how would he see her? Sitting next to Sans, I glance at him. He's never killed her before. This timeline will always be True Pacifist, or at least, I thought it would. Resting a hand on his, I sigh.
"Is it a geno route this time?" I ask. He shakes his head and I sigh. "Thank God," I say, leaning back. Getting up, I help him do the same. Nightmare is still out, thankfully. Sans props him up on a table and grabs a marker. Raising an eyebrow, I watch as he draws eyebrows, a moustache, and some other features on him. He puts the marker back down and nods, satisfied with himself.
"Alright, what do we do now?" he asks. My hands glow as I look at him.
"This," I say, walking over. My hands move as I paint a cage around him, adding some chains around him for extra precautions. Sans rubs his eye sockets and crosses his arms. He seems tired. Probably hasn't been sleeping well. "There, he shouldn't be able to get out of here with this. The chains have power that make it so he can't teleport away," I say, looking at Sans triumphantly. Sans nods, crossing his arms as he looks at Nightmare's unmoving body.
"So, what now?" he asks.
"I don't know," I sigh, shaking my head.
"Ink would know," he responds.
"Yeah, Ink seems to know a lot," I growl, crossing my arms. Sans sighs, rolling his eyes as he plops down on the ground. Walking over, I sit down next to him and watch Nightmare. "I'm sorry I'm being so childish. Its just that he lied to me! About everything, about my family! Do you know what that's like?" I ask, looking at me. Recollision flashes before his eyes and he nods.
"I know, kid. I know," he murmurs, rubbing his hand.
"It was him, wasn't it," I ask, glancing at him.
"Who?" he responds, trying to hide it.
"Who is W.D.Gaster to you?" I blurt, not thinking. My eyes widen as his eye flashes blue. He turns his head, looking in my direction. The blue flame from his eye is bright, and I can feel its heat on my skin.
"How do you know him?" he asks, blinking and looking away.
"He's like my father," I say, looking at my hands. Sans laughs.
"Huh? Really? Guess that makes us like siblings then," he says, nudging me.
"Yeah, I guess it does . . . why did yo-"
"Why did I get upset? Its a long story kid," he responds. We sit in silence, looking at Nightmare. He's strangely peaceful when he's knocked out. Slowly, I shake my head. Sans looks at me, confused.
"What was the date?" I ask, looking at him.
"What?"
"The date Gaster disappeared," I repeat.
"How did yo- I, uh, I don't remember. I can't remember," he says, rubbing his head. Looking away, I nod. Of course. They never do. Sighing, I let out a long, relaxed sigh. "That was a weird question, kid," he says, shaking his head. Smiling, I chuckle a bit. "But now I have one for you. How did you meet Gaster, and what was he like to you?" he asks, looking at me. My eyes widen.
"Gaster? Well, meeting him is a long story. But, I guess we have time," I shrug. He nods and I look back at Nightmare, going back in my memories. To a time before all this.
"It all started when I fell."
