You look at him. You look ahead of you. Aindreas and Brock were gone. They'd left you behind. Brock left you to find for yourself. Mission Impossible my ass.
You were standing in the middle of the sidewalk. The moon overlooking and judging ever step you take. Every move you make.
Neither of you talked. You told him what you had received. What you had saw. What you noticed.
He didn't say anything. Your bare feet tingled against the concrete.
You notice his jaw clench. "I didn't know when to tell-"
You stare at him. Your expression blank. "When?"
He tilted his head slightly. "When what?"
You looked down. "When did it happen?"
He cleared his throat. " About a week ago."
So it was two days before you received the video.
"Tell me it's fake. Tell me I'm wrong." You curl your toes up.
He doesn't say anything.
"David tell me I'm wrong!" You rip the wig off of your head. "This is the only time I want to hear you tell me I'm wrong. I don't want to be right."
"It did happen. I won't lie."
You start tearing up. "I want you to lie to me!"
"You know I could never lie to you." his voice was very quiet.
Your voice cracks. "I know." You drop your phone, and as he bends down to pick it up you begin to walk away.
He calls after you, but you don't acknowledge him.
After walking a good few meters, you burst into a full sprint. Wherever you went, the only person who would really know, is the moon himself.
You look at the cross roads you've come to. You could run back into David's arms, pretend nothing has happened or has altered your view of him. Or you could keep going. Keep running. Keep going. Keep pushing.
You score out your options. Wearing a dress helps neither really, but whatever.
You finally come to an decision. You were going to keep going. Whatever was out there, you were going to take on.
A few good minutes later, you were standing at a railing, panting at the fact you just ran to this area in a mini dress.
You saw the view of a beautiful lake. It shimmered and glimmered in the night.
You set down everything you were holding.
You just let out everything you had been holding in. Angered fueled yelling. Sadness fueled tears.
It just poured out like gasoline into a fire.
You didn't know where you were, or how you managed to get here, but you were alone. Which is what you truly needed.
You fell to your knees. You were going to be okay. Right? Right...
It's not like this hasn't happened before... This is completely normal. You've been betrayed before. You've had your heart snapped in two before. You've had a broken soul before.
And you fixed it. But is there really a reason to this time?
You look out on the water, and stand up.
Was this it? Was this all you had in store for your life? Broken hearts and broken dreams?
You breath heavily for the next few moments, contemplating these questions.
Then it began to rain.
You stare at the unmoving waters, except the small plinks of rain on the surface.
You didn't know the time, or honestly the date at this point.
You hoist yourself up onto the railing, looking at the destroyed wreckage of your life.
The rain tapped lightly against your skin.
You felt the wind blowing and you stopped when you heard the car door slam.
"(Y/N)! Please come here! I don't want you to not know the whole story."
"I don't think I care."
He stopped. "What about everyone else? What about Grace, Tyler, Craig, Brock, or Abbie? What about us? Do we not matter to you?"
"I don't know." You were still staring at the lake.
"Please look at me." hurt was in his voice.
You spin around slowly. "I-"
"We'll make it out of this mess. Just come down."
"I got tired of waiting..."
"(Y/N).."
"Romeo save me, I've been feeling so alone, I've keep waiting for you but you never come. Is this in my head? I don't know what to think.."
He took a step forward. "Just listen, that's all I ask. Then whatever you do is up to you. Please come down. You're scaring me."
You realize what he said. 'You're scaring me.'
You gulp. "You're right." your expression was blank. You're so stupid.
"Here just come to me." he started walking forward.
Then lightning flashed. There wasn't any other lightning flashes earlier.
You got spooked by how close it struck down and you slipped. You fell backwards off of the railing and began to plummet into the dark waters.
But then you felt a hand grip yours.
"Got spooked eh?" David forced a chuckle.
You both knew how drastic the situation was.
"David I swear don't drop me. Please. I won't ever-"
"I would never let you go."
He tried to dead lift you up, but he wasn't able to do it with the rain pouring down.
You felt his grip loosening.
"David!" he readjusted his left hand.
"I won't drop you."
You look down at the lake.
"Drop me."
Even in the dark, you saw the intensity in his eyes. "(Y/N) no way."
"Drop me. I mean it."
He shook his head. "I won't."
"David dammit! I swear to fucking god let me go!" You try wriggling free.
"Stop moving!"
You take your free hand and start hitting him. Soon enough he drops you.
He tells your name, and it rings in your ears.
You fall a good twenty feet before hitting a small jutting out section of rock.
You breath a sigh of relief as you press your back to the cold rock.
David states down at you. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THERE WAS A PLATFORM YOU AGGGH!!"
You chuckle and sit down. Dipping your toes in the freezing water. It was very relaxing.
