You got little sleep last night, and had a early morning.
You got out of bed, not waking David, at 7:30. You went downstairs after grabbing a book out of your duffle.
You quietly made a bowl of cereal and sat down and opened the book.
Paper Towns. You've read it twice now, but it's so good.
David walks in thirty minutes later with his hair sticking up everywhere. "Why are you up so early?"
"Couldn't sleep."
He sat down next to you. "Also, um."
"What?"
"Have you by any chance seen my glasses?"
You point to the counter. "Well wouldya look at that."
He chuckled. "Yes. I remember setting them here. Totally."
"Well in that case you should go double check everything you've packed. Because I'm not doing it for you."
He rolled his eyes. "Okay Ma." David left the room quietly.
You continue eating and reading, and a few minutes later David walked back downstairs. "What about my phone?"
You push it from behind your elbow. "You left it on the table last night." You say without looking up.
"Okay. Last thing I swear."
You look up with an eyebrow raised.
"Have you seen Joe? I haven't seen him all morning."
You push your chair out to reveal Joe sitting in your lap. "I was petting him. Nothing is lost."
He sighs, relieved. "That's good. Okay. Bye." he said rushing back up the stairs.
You look down at Joe. "Your dad is hella weird."
He barked happily.
"Glad you agree."

A few hours later....You had already boarded the flight and you were tired. You decided to try to get some sleep, somehow you succeeded.
{A time skip brought to you by a lazy writer}
David had gotten off the plane first. You'd only been to North Carolina a few times. Never by plane. Nevertheless the flight went by okay.
You get a cab and drive to the hospital that Jon had told you to go to.
As you walk in you pick Jon out right away. You rush over to him and sit down. "How is she?"
"It's been two days and nothing, and the doctor's swear it's not a coma."
"Then we believe what the say." David chimed in.
Grace ran up to you and David, Tyler not too far behind.
"(Y/N) I'm so glad you made it, Tyler said you weren't coming." she hugged you.
"Well Tyler's a bitch ass liar." You smile.
He laughed. "Just doin' my job."
We were granted to go see her, as you walk in you start tearing up.
You run over to her and take her hand.
You weren't really paying attention to the fact she was stirring.
"(Y/N)? Is that you?"
"Yeah. Yeah it is." You wiped a tear.
Grace walked over and joined you.
"Hi Grace." she smiled.
She learned in, "Who are they?" she pointed to the three men in the doorway. "Are those my doctors?"
"Um.. Jon's your boyfriend."
She frowned. "Which ones Jon?"
Then it hit you.
She didn't know them. She probably forgot them. She has amnesia.
You tell Grace to get the Doctor, as you rush the three men into the hallway.
"Okay so there's good news and bad news."
"Good news first." Tyler said.
Jon punched him.
"Abbie's A-Ok. Bad news, she does not..." You pause, wondering how to tell them. "Shedoesnotrememberasingleoneofyouokay?"
"What?" Jon said.
"She doesn't remember you... Or you... Or you." You point to each of them. "I'm so sorry."
Jonathan walked away. Which was understandable.
You started biting your lip. You do that when you're anxious. Which wasn't very often.
You decide to go see what the Doctor says.
Sadly she confirms it. Abbie has short term amnesia. Like from a year to minimum six months.
She looked at you. "I'm sorry I don't remember them. You look sad (Y/L/N) I'm sorry."
You sigh. "It's not your fault. Trust me bro it happens."
The doctor smiles. "If you can find something to trigger her memories, she will remember everything. But that could be tricky."
You nod. "Well when will she be released?"
"You ma'am, can sign the discharge papers right now."
"Okay. Let's go."
Abbie wasn't severely injured, they just needed to make sure.
You all exit, Grace and Tyler drove back to Jon's house, while everyone else split between two cabs. You and Abbie, David and Jon.
You tried telling her things, but she didn't remember.
Once at their place, you tried using his things. That also didn't work.
You sat exasperated on the couch, having practically tried everything. It had been two days since the discharge and no progress has been made. Abbie usually sits with you in the guest room, you talking about everything can remember, her not remembering anything.
It was tearing your heart out. You desperately wanted her to remember and be the happy fun chick you love to hang out with. You missed her so much. It was killing you.
You kept trying. You kept pushing. Finally. After three days you stopped trying.
Craig called you while everyone was sitting in the living room. "Heyo (Y/N) what's the haps?"
"Nothing much." You decided not to tell him right now.
"Yeah, okay cool. But, I did just take Liam out if the kennel. Him and Sparky are chillin and having a good time. By the way Liam misses you. K bye." he hung up before I had a conniption.
"Liam is such a cool dog." Abbie said.
I adopted Liam about 5 months ago. If she had amnesia she wouldn't remember him.
"I remember that one time Liam tackled Jon. That was funny."
Is that what triggered her?
You kept talking about Liam, while glancing over to Jon. He was completely mesmerized. He looked so happy.
Jon ran over to Abbie, scooping her up in his arms. Burying his head into her neck.
Grace and Tyler started applauding.
You took David's hand and started smiling like the idiot ya are.
