Implausibility

You jerked up, breathing heavily. Nightmares. Night terrors. Whatever you want to call them, that's what was circulating in your system.

You started to get hungry, so you went on a walk to a little restaurant.

On the way there, in the rain, a man in a trench coat stood there, he was very tall and looked slightly confused.

You kept walking, taking small glances at him, but then you looked over again and he motioned for you to come over to him.

"(Y/N). It's nice to meet you."

"Do I know you?"

"No. But can I have a minute please? I've got something you need."

You walked closer to him.

"Don't be afraid to make the stakes, at least you know you're living, the debts and pain from when you strayed, all is forgiven."

"What?"

"I've seen it all, the rise and fall, ten thousand years of living, from Rome to Spain, Britain and LA. People still pretending, you fight your wars but what's it for? Ask me it's never ending. Better wake up, the end is your beginning." The man set a small, folded piece of paper in your hand.

"What's this?"

"Look. It won't be easy now, and when it comes to us, let's make it right."

You stared at the paper, it had two numbers on it. You looked up and he was gone.

"Sir?" No one was around.

You felt the need to drop everything and run, but that's not what he said.

"Okay..."

You walk back to the room and sit down, opening your laptop. Typing in the numbers. Nothing useful.

It's not a phone number, not an address, you didn't know.

You look up and realize that was not there before.

You stand up and grab the long coat hanging from the wall. It was the trench coat the man was wearing.

You search the pockets and find another paper.

Coordinates LL

Like a graph?

You were about to throw the jacket when you were overcome with triumph.

Longitude and Latitude. Coordinates.

You start typing at your computer when there was a knock on the door.

"Go away." You manage quickly.

The door opened and Grace walked in. "Ha no."

"Well fine. I was just leaving." You scribble an address on a scrap of paper. You were going to go get him.

You put a gun inconspicuously in your pants and a switch blade in your boot.

Grabbing the trench coat, you start to walk out the door.

"Wait." Grace grabbed a kitchen knife and smiled. "I've got your back."

You put on the coat. "Let's go. It's a long walk."

She walked in front of you. "I don't think so."

Tyler's car was parked in front of your door.

"Let's go.

You didn't feel good about leading your sister straight into danger, but here we are.

You pulled into the location of the paper, and you were quite satisfied that you didn't need help doing this. But glad you had it just in case.

You look around the front entrance, suspicious at the fact this plot of land was deserted, but it still had life peeking out of every corner. Like if we didn't exist, it would carry on happily.

You quietly open the door, bracing yourself with the gun in your hands and your shoulders blocked.

"Be quiet Gra-"

"Yo DAVID?"

You sigh and contemplate leaving her to her dumbfounded fate.

You walk slightly faster down the winding corridors. This entire day seemed implausible.

You heard slight movement and hushed Grace.

You drew your gun and jumped around the corner, you two were slightly outnumbered.

Grace ran in, guns a blazing.

You duck and dodge, wanting to find out what's behind the guards, because they wouldn't be there if they weren't guarding something. Right?

You kick the door down, but David wasn't in there. But a small petite figure. It turned around and widened its eyes. "Can I go now?"

"Have you seen David?"

This really couldn't get more awkward.

"I know where he is, but I don't think you wanna see em." The small girl said shakily. She seemed to be in her late 20's.

She took your hand and you nearly yanked it back, but in all honesty she was your only hope.

She ran down a hallway and opened a door, you walked in and saw a massive blood stain on the floor.

"Where is he?" You turn around and the girl smiles and slams the door. Before you could make a move you heard the lock mechanism begin. Four locks on one door. How fabulous.

You walk over to the blood on the floor. Who's was it? Was it David's? Was it someone else's? Is David dead?

You start frantically looking around the room, but all you found was a pile of boxes.

"Worthless...." You say as you fall to your knees in defeat.

You heard commotion outside your door. Yelling. Not familiar, and barely even audible. You couldn't make out the words. Then as quickly as it started it stopped.

Then the clicking started. The door opened moments later.

"Did ya miss me?"

"Bloody bitch." David stood at the door.

"Ya. Grace helped me a bit."

You run into his arms, "Where is she?"

"She bailed, to take some of the heat."

You nod. "Let's go then."

You both followed the hallway, but almost all exits were closed off.

"Do you have a plan?"

You looked up at David. "Uh." then a switch flipped in your head. "Let's jump out the window. I can shoot it and we can jump."

"That's crazy!"

"Yeah, but do you have a better plan?"

"I wouldn't have asked ye for a plan if I had one myself!"

You put two bullets through the glass and watched it shatter.

He took your hand. "Are you ready?"

You shook your head. "I probably never will be." You both started running and jumped out if the broken window.

And in this moment she knew she fucked up.
