Katniss POV:
I sit on the bed doing the joined assignment me and Annie were suppose to do together but its 11pm and Annie is not here plus its due tomorrow so I do it alone. Its alot of work for one but if I don't do it now I will be up all night. To be honest I can feel myself falling asleep but I keep myself awake to finish the project. I hear some loud music from downstairs but dismiss it its probably just some people pulling a prank.
-NEXT MORNING-
I wake up with my face in my desk I turn and see Annie applying makeup to her face.
"Morning" She says
"Morning" I reply "Where were you last night?" I ask her she looks at me confused
"Cloves Party everyone went why didnt you go?" She asks turning back to her mirror
"I didnt know she was having one" I say honestly
"Really? She sent them to everyone!" She exclaims
"Well not me" I say. She just shrugs it off but I can't keep it off my mind. Did Clove mean to not invite me? Was it a mistake? I check my phone and see no messages.
"Thanks for doing the project" She says and I just nod "Shoot! Ive gotta go I promised Clove I would be in the Cafe early to have breakfast with her" She says
"Wait what about me?" I say but Annie is already out the door. I fall back on the bed and just stare at the ceiling.
Maths,
English,
Archery,
Science,
Free Period
That's my schedule I look on Annie's and see we only have science ,which the project is for, together today. I walk down to the Cafe on my own and instantly spot Annie, Finnick and Peeta with Clove and some blonde haired boy. I queue up and get some toast before joining them.
"Hey" I say casually
"Katniss Guess what!" Clove squeals but before I have time to answer she continues "I am in the same science as you and Annie and I can join you in the group!" She says She means the groups for Science. it should be in pairs but not there is three of us.
"Yay!" Annie screams but I just keep quiet and smile. Peeta and Finnick are talking to the blonde haired boy still
"Who is that?" I ask them gestguring to the boy
"Cato" Clove replies "Come on Annie I want to show you my idea for the science project"
"I already done it..." I say
"Yeah! but I can make it better and lets face it Katniss your hopeless come on Annie!" She says before dragging Annie behind her

When Cato goes to join his other friends with Finnick Peeta walks over to me
"Katniss why weren't you at the party last night?" Peeta asks
"Didn't get invited" I mumble
"Everyone got invited" He insists
"Well not me" I say with my head low "Have you got science period 4 today?" I ask looking into his eyes now
"Yup!" He smiles "Oh got to go Kat, First period about to start, Love you" He pulls me into a hug before leaving and I stand and whisper
"I love you too" He doesn't hear because he doesn't turn back. People push past me to get to thier first lesson
In a room full of people yet being alone
I head to Maths and take a seat at the back on my own as I dont really know anyone here. A girl sits next to me and quietly gets out her stuff.
"Okay Class today were working in pairs, page 54" She says while handing out textbooks. I glance at the girl next to me. Her brown hair flowing past her shoulders she looks up at me her eyes connecting with mine.
"I'm Madge" She says unsure of if she said the right thing
"Katniss" I reply
Halfway through the lesson were working well together. We don't talk that much but it works nicely for us.
We talk abit about the work but not much more. I like Mage she is very kind and understanding. Eventually we talk more and more. She is not gossipy and niether am I so we match well together. She helps me when I get stuck on a question and I help her when she is stuck. Its nice to have someone more like me yet so different. At the end of maths we pack up our stuff and leave
"What do you have next?" I ask her while putting my book away
"English" She says and I nod
"Set?" I ask
"Middle you?"
"Oh I'm in bottom" I say disappointed. I really like Madge and I wish I was in more classes with her. "See you later" I smile at her and she returns it before I make my way to English. I sit down at the back again but this time no one sits next to me. The teacher is saying things but I just can't get them to make sense in my head and end up just copying what she writes on the board.
"Okay for homework I would like you to write a short story about anything you like" She says before dismissing us. People begin talking about their ideas for the short story but I can't think about anything. So I just go to Archery.
"Right today we are evaluating you" The instructor says and calls us up name by name
"Everdeen" He says finally. I am last and as I walk up to my spot I can feel eyes on me. Staring. I load my bow and aim. No one has got a bulls eye yet because their bulls eyes are extremely small to make it harder. I let go of the arrow and it plants itself in the bulls eye "Good Shot Everdeen!" He says and I smile
"Thank you" I say before walking out feeling proud that I am not that hopeless.
I sit with Annie and Clove in Science and they redesign the project and change what I spent two hours on. When they are done 'adjusting' it it looks completely different. The teacher grades it and gives us an A!
"Yay! I told you Annie If me and you changed it we would get an A!" Annie slightly nods deep in thought. She looks at me and smiles. I don't smile back. Once we get out I go straight to our dorm and see Annie Is already there packing all her stuff
"Annie what are you doing?" I ask sitting on my bed
"Oh I forgot to tell you Clove said I could share a dorm with her!"
