Chapter 14

One week later
Chance's POV

It's been a week and nothing has happened. The police kept their word and stayed around the neighborhood.

Tessa doesn't want to sleep alone in her room so I stay with her. Erika stays with Jake so she's not downstairs.

Kade has been staying over just in case, so him and Anthony sleep in the same room. In Nick's room it's him and the Martinez twins.

Everyone has someone so they are not sleeping alone.

Today we were putting the trampolines on the roof. First we tired getting them up without anything helping them.

Once we figured out that it wouldn't work, we went to Home Depot to buy wood and rope.

On our way home we stopped at Vcafe for a smoothie, gotta have the energy for the day.

When we arrived home we got started right away. Jake built a lever for the top of the house to pull it up.

The first trampoline was on its way up when we realized it wasn't going any further than it already did.

We pulled every single one up. until the rope was at the end, then lifted them up the rest of the way.

The finishing product looked amazing and 'Jake's Rooftop Trampoline Park' was now opened.

We jumped from one to the other and got really good drone footage.

All day we were on the roof just enjoying Cali weather.

Later that night we decided to cook dinner. We were having hamburgers...something easy.

The whole house pitched in to help so it could be done fast.

That night after editing we went outside to the couch and made a fire.

We all sat out there and talked until the wind had blown it out. Once it did, we walked inside and locked the doors.

Me and Tess went upstairs while the ones who still needed to edit stayed down.

We got ready for bed (brushed teeth, wash face) and turned on a movie. As we laid there in silence, she brought up the incident that happened a week ago.

No one in the house really talks about it, it was a really scary moment for us.

"Thank you" she said referring to the second night.
"Your welcome, I'm glad your comfortable with me" I say back.

We talked until the movie went off and then turned the side lamp off.

She snuggled into her pillow pulling the covers over her arm.

"Goodnight Tess" I said.
"Goodnight Chance" she replied.
