"what's wrong? Never been kissed before?"

A few days ago Betty Cooper wouldn't be able to imagine herself in the middle of the Riverdale forest with Jughead Jones holding her in his arms as they swayed back and forth to the imaginary music in their heads. She lost track of the time, but something in her head didn't care anymore that she'd miss her science test that day. Betty accepted the unexpected. Where her tight pony tail used to be, flowed straight yellow locks. She let her hair lose, allowing it to fall on her shoulders.

She looked up at the trees, meeting the sky with her eyes that peeked from the branches. Her arms wrapped tightly around the boy who was holding her, grasping for his warmth. His jean jacket warmed her arms, and his heart warmed hers. She was frozen in the moment with him, hypnotized by his stare. Every bone in her body told her to do something crazy, to lash out, but Betty tried to control herself.

Betty smiled mischeviously and looked at Jughead. She applied her perfect pink lips to his cheek, but he only smirked her action off. If Jughead was gonna make a dangerous bad girl out of her, he would have to start there. He kissed her lips, minimizing the distance between them. Pulling her completely towards him, the dark haired boy felt heard the blond whimper.

"What's wrong, never been kissed before?" He asked jokingly.

She shook her head, "no."

His eyes widened. Of course, how could he think she was. Jughead always associated her with Archie and believed that him and her dated, but he never stopped to ask or wonder just how different Betty was.

Cupping her face Jughead smiled, but it wasn't a dark and mischievous smile, it was a sweet and innocent kind of smile. The kind that a child gets after receiving his gift on Christmas morning.

"What?" Betty asked, a bit confused by him.

Jughead smiled wider, "nothing! You're a special one Cooper, I think I'll take my time with you."

The thought scared Betty. It sounded like he just wanted her for a while, or perhaps only to convert her to his dark side. If she was already taking steps and risks it was too late to go back now, whatever the future held for her she embraced it with fear and open arms.

"Wanna do something crazy?" Betty asked.

He raised his eyebrows, "I'm up for crazy."

Leaning closer to him, Betty whispered, "let's trash Archie's car!"

Although the idea appealed to him, Jughead wasn't about to go spend time vandalizing someone else's property when he could be spending time with the new Betty Cooper, or as she claimed, the one who was always there inside.

"As fun as that sounds," he rolled his eyes, "believe it or not, I'd rather spend these last few moments with you."

Betty was annoyed, but she complied. She ended up telling him everything about herself, her fears and dreams. He was easy to talk to, and she felt comfortable and safe around him. His blue eyes pierced through her soul and watched every corner of it. Betty felt like she was in an old black and white movie, confessing her strange desires to a strange young man she just met. Jughead didn't tell her anything, he just listened. For the first time, she felt like someone cared.

The hours slowly ticked by, but they didn't notice. Betty thought they walked around the whole town, everyone's eyes on them. She didn't mind though. She knew some neighbor would see them and tell her mom everything, but it was a risk she was willing to take if that meant that she could have Jughead holding her hand in his jean jacket, warming her cold body.

Her worries and fears were gone, and she no longer thanked the pills she didn't take. It was Jughead she felt better with, perhaps it was because he was so different.

"So," she sat down on the ground of some street curb and pulled him down with her, "tell me something about Jughead Jones?"

"He's a weird kind of guy," he smirked.

Betty took his hand, "yeah? How so?"

"He's one of those typical bad boys you know, those who pretend to be all tough, but really, there's something killing them inside," he looked at her, realizing he might have said a little too much.

Betty leaned up against him, and then quickly got up as she saw her mom and dad marching toward them. Letting Jughead's hand go, Betty felt fear and shame at the same time. Her mother looked disappointed and something bad was about to happen. Jughead stood up as well, not sure what to expect.

"Elizabeth Cooper go home at once!" Her mother grabbed her by the hand.

Betty's first instinct was to comply, but she couldn't. She tore her hand away from her mother and looked at her sternly, "no!"

Her father opened the car door and didn't say a word.

"Get in the car," Alice Cooper said, her eyes angry and her voice sending shivers down Betty's spine.

Looking at Jughead she slowly started walking towards the car without saying a word to him. Mrs. Cooper glanced at him and didn't even bother to smile.

"Betty won't be seeing you again, I am not sure what the nature of your relationship was, but be sure, it's over." She turned around swiftly.

"Oh don't worry Mrs. Cooper," Jughead said with an innocent voice, waiting for her to look at him again, "we were only lovers."

Shocked and disgusted Alice Cooper pushed her daughter further into the car as Betty giggled at Jughead's comment. Of course he wished that she would stand up to her mother and tell her to leave her alone, but Betty wasn't a bad girl yet, she still listened to her parents.

He watched as they took her away from him, wondering if he would ever speak to her again. The bad part of him wanted to not care, she was just another girl and there were many blondes at school anyway. But this blonde was different. He didn't want to part with her, he wanted to smell her strawberry scented hair, hug her, kiss her raspberry pink lips.
