"Betty, what the hell are you wearing!?"
He was in shock. Betty Cooper, the sweet girl next door, stood speechless in front of him. A black wig hiding her blonde hair. Recognizing her green eyes was not hard, especially for him, he spent far too much time searching them when he didn't understand anything, she always had all the answers. What was even more disturbing to him was the short black skirt she was wearing, with a very revealing strapless top. Grabbing her by the arm, he pulled her into the bathroom, skipping the many Serpent gang members who were waiting for their turn.
Betty was pushed onto the cold walls of the bathroom stall and pinned to them, although she was scared, she was not surprised by his reaction.
"Betty, what the hell are you wearing!?" He screamed out, letting the entire room know what was going on.
Betty sighed, "shh, you're being too loud! Besides, what are you even doing here...Archie?"
The red-head star football player released the blonde from his grip and pulled her black wig off, "I can't take you seriously in this. Betty, did he make you do this? It's okay, I'll get you out of here." Archie started rambling, but Betty stopped him.
"Archie, relax, I asked for this job. I'm tired of the life I was living!" Betty defended herself.
Archie looked at her with wide eyes, "My God, he drugged you with something didn't he? I will call the cops and it will all be over Betty," Archie pulled out his phone. Betty didn't know what to do, so she did the unthinkable, she scratched Archie Andrews across the face.
He looked at her in shock. Archie didn't know whether to fight her back or leave her alone. He stood there in the bathroom stall with Betty by his side, confused about what the situation was. She begged him not to tell her parents or anyone for that matter, and he silently shook his head and complied. Archie knew that he already lost Betty to whatever life Jughead dragged her into. To save her, he'd have to get rid of the root itself; Jughead Jones. Archie decided to leave Betty alone for now, there was no way he could help her anymore. The music in the bar died out in his head, he could hear Betty's soft plea as he walked off and a ringing in his ears. He slowly walked out of the bar and was rejoined by Veronica, who kept asking what happened. Archie didn't say anything, he just walked, as far away as he could from that place.
Betty fell onto the floor and tried to wipe the tears off her face, her mascara was caught in the tears and poured down her eyes. She tried as best as she could to put the wig back on, but it wasn't as perfect as she wanted it to be. Walking out of the bathroom, Betty turned to the staff room and fell onto the small couch. She pulled the wig off and threw it onto the floor. Of course, she did as for it, what else would she expect from Archie. Betty didn't want to disappoint anyone, but she ended up disappointing everyone.
Suddenly, a pair of warm hands wrapped around her shoulders and she turned to face Jughead. His face told her that he was concerned for her. He only now realized what she was wearing and his eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
"What?-"
"Don't ask," Betty cried out, falling onto his chest, "please don't ask."
Jughead wrapped his arms around her tighter and rocked her back and forth, not knowing how else to calm her down. Betty let out a few tears and sobs, and then wiped her eyes, looking up at Jughead. He was trying to look into the distance, but looked down to her as soon as she lifted her head off his jacket. He ran his thumb across her cheek, wiping away the tears mixed with mascara.
"So, what happened?" He whispered. Even Betty was surprised how Jughead's reaction was much calmer than Archie's.
Betty sighed, "I needed a job."
