"What I know is this, and I don't want it to every change. You and I are chaos, but it's perfect."

The pills were by her bedside already, her mother was worried about her health and hyperactive disorder. Betty was controlled by the pills. They were a way her parents could know that she was being limited by her own mind and body. Betty wanted an escape, she wanted more than her quite life. Looking out the window she noticed little raindrops land on the glass. Betty smiled, it never really rained, but it finally did. She wanted to get sick, to do something different. Putting on her tank top under a sweater, she walked out of her room. Before she walked out she drank the glass of water and put two pills, which she was supposed to drink, under her pillow.

"I'm walking to school this time mom," Betty walked down the stairs.

Her mother looked up from her pancake plate and her father from his newspaper. They both looked at each other with confusion. "Okay, take an umbrella, it's raining outside."

"Okay," Betty murmured. She passed the coat rack on her way out. Looking at her coat and the umbrella next to it, she opened the door and walked out without grabbing either of the things.

She looked up at the pouring rain and walked a few blocks down to her school. Her head was spinning with confusion, her body was used to being affected by the pills, but she didn't take them that morning. Betty took off her sweater and dropped it to the ground. She walked in the rain with a tank top on, shivering. Perhaps it was a cry for attention, or complete chaos that forced her to do so. Whatever it was, she knew people were going to stare and that's exactly what they did the second she stepped onto the school property.

Whispers. Eyes. Judgement. Even her best friend Veronica smirked and whispered something to Archie Andrews. Betty's eyes were wondering over the open space of the school parking lot.

"She completely gave up," one person said, and Betty tightened her arms around her shoulders, the cold finally getting to her.

"I knew ever since she started hanging out with that loser she'd fall," laughed someone else.

"Poor Betty, I wonder if things would have been different if she didn't become this," she heard Archie say. Betty fell down on her knees, her jeans wet from the impact of the ground. No one reached out to her, no one helped. Such was life among peers, no one cared.

Jughead jumped off the curb. His hat was wet from the rain, and his jean jacket too. Picking up his speed he rushed over to the scene. Everyone surrounded her, the girl with the perfect pony tale and he knew exactly who she was. Pushing everyone out of his way, he took off his jean jacket and draped it over her shoulders, helping her up. Some people took out their phones to take a video or a couple of pictures. The bell rang and everyone went inside.

He led Betty away from the school, figuring she didn't need their attention for now. Betty didn't seem worried, although he asked her a couple of times if she was alright. Even he didn't expect her to show up at school on a rainy morning with nothing but a tank top and jeans and fall in front of everyone.

Betty threw his jean jacket off of herself, "I want to be cold."

He tried to put it on her again, but she protested. Giving up Jughead sat her down on the cold ground and joined her. He rubbed his tired eyes and took off his strange hat. The rain was starting to die down, but the wind was taking over.

"Betty-" she shook her head before he could finish.

Betty stood up and started pacing around, "I hate that name, I hate it all!" With one swift movement she took her hair tie out, letting her hair rest on her shoulders and started scratching her hand.

Immediately Jughead stood up, "stop it," he grabbed her hands. She fought back, but her wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her head down to his shoulder, whispering a calming shhh sound.

She realized that her behavior could have been blamed on the fact that she didn't take her pills. Tears started to stream down her face from the fear of what happened. Betty didn't know what to do when she was out of control, and her parents weren't around to help.

"You need to lock me up, so I can come down-" she started pacing around again, "you need to get my pills and-"

Jughead stopped her, "Betty, I'm not going to lock you up, that's insane!"

"But you have to, or I'll do something stupid!" She opened her eyes wider, begging him.

He put his hands around her face, "you've already done something stupid. Just calm down okay, I've got you." She wanted to trust him, but could she?

Falling down on the ground, she looked around. They were pretty farm from the school, at a place she'd never been before. Even though it was a small town, her parents still didn't allow her to go to many places. It was like Jughead let a bird out of its cage.

"So, this is the real Betty Cooper?" He asked, sitting down next to her.

"I've always been the real Betty Cooper, I've just been controlled. I'm still the same," she looked at him, tears stinging her eyes. He put his arm around her.

Jughead looked ahead, "Betty, you are endless, you can't let some prescription control your life, or your parents for that matter."

"But I'm crazy! Did you not see me back there? I did a very awful thing! I could do worse! I have some sort of hyperactive disorder." She explained.

"You're chaotic, and so are we all, that doesn't mean you should be controlled. You'll never know how to control yourself if you let someone else do it your whole life." Jughead said.

She turned to look at him, his eyes were different. He wasn't cautious or alert, he looked calm and concerned. Betty took his hand in hers and searched it. His vains were popping out and fingertips white from the cold. Her instinct told her to warm them up somehow. She stood up, still holding his hand and pulling him up with her. Things like that didn't happen in real life, people were too afraid to tell each other the way they felt, but Jughead was different. He let things happen in his life, and he made things happen. He saw the darkness in her beauty, and she the beauty in his darkness. Betty twirled around under his arm and landed on his chest. She took in the peculiar smell of forest wood and an aftershave he used. Closing her eyes, she put her head to his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

"I don't know anything anymore." She whispered, almost admitting it to herself.

Jughead smiled, tucking her lose hair behind her ear to see her face better, "what I know is this, and I don't want it to ever change. You and I are chaos, but it's perfect."

"Do you want to skip school?" Betty asked.

Jughead laughed, "do I ever? As long as you promise to keep my jacket on, I don't want you getting sick."

"You care about me that much?" Betty smiled, saying it sarcastically.

"I think we long ago established that I do care about you," he wrapped his arm around her and they started walking into the direction of the unknown.
