3rd POV:"Go suck a d*ck."
Those were Travis' first words when Nick managed to forcefully pull the burlap bag off of Travis' head without being bit by the victim he helped capture.
"Casper, do I have permission to hit him again?" Nick asked. He shot a glare at the white haired boy.
"No, Nick. We can't hit an innocent. You know what the council would do if they found out."
Travis smirked wickedly at Nick, seeing the burning fury inside of his eyes. He knew that the man so badly wanted to beat the sh*t out of him. It was like a cat sitting in front of a tempting tasty piece of cheese.
"They aren't necessarily innocent themselves either, now are they?"
"Shut up, Nick! You are gonna get us killed!" Casper paused. "Truthfully, I feel guilty. The council never even questioned the idea of him being innocent. They acted as if they knew the whole truth. They didn't give him a chance. We are already breaking the law so we don't need any more things to add to our record, Nick."
"Don't tell me you are siding with the Devil's son now are you?"
"What happened to the code of mercy?"
"Well what happened to the code of justice?"
"Just... I feel like this is true justice. Nick, this feels right to me. I'm not siding with him, but I will give him a chance, despite his family. I choose to look at him as a stranger, and I will temporarily disregard his questionable father. We must distinguish between truth and false judgment. The only way to show true justice is to form opinions based on fact and not opinion."
"Sometimes judgements keep us safe though."
"What a cowardly and thoughtless thing to say, Nick. You could form stereotypes and assumptions about everyone, and there will always be true ones because of chance. We are all beings in this world. The truth is, some beings will be bad, while others will be good. If you make assumptions like that, you may be protecting yourself from a 1% chance of that happening, but you are also casting away the 99% chance of that not happening. You can't run and hide from everything, Nick. Shielding yourself with opinions will also shield you from the truth."
"You sound like an old man."
"For starters, I don't sound like an old man, I sound like a wise man. Secondly, I'm 25. For your information, that is three years younger than you," Casper scoffed in his British accent. He had kept an emotionless face throughout the entire conversation. He pushed his slender gray glasses up the bridge of his nose and then slid his pale hands into his pockets.
Travis glanced from one man to another, dazed, confused, puzzled, and slightly amused by the scene unfolding before him. His hands were still bound up, just as his legs were, but he felt more comfortable where he was now. There was still a strong magicks barrier, but the room was more cozy and less like a prison cell or room in a classic movie insane asylum.
Travis glanced around. No cameras. There were still no windows, but the light was more mellow and less like the bright blinding lights of an operation room. The floor was wooden, the walls were painted white, with one accent wall grey, and there stood a large house plant in the corner. There was nothing else in the room though except the lights reaching out from the walls and hanging from the ceiling.
