Daryl returned back to Alexandria alone, betrayed and hurt. His head hung low as he walked though the gates the next day after spending hours alone in the dark forest thinking about her...
Daryl wasn't the one to swoon over pretty girls or over think things, or even think at all about them. But she was different, she was mysterious. So mysterious he didn't even know she was part of the saviours.
Though he felt he wanted to punch something for being stupid or pull his hair out in stress. But he also wanted to kiss her again... pull her body close to his as their lips joined. Hug her at night to keep warm, learn her mysteries, mess around together and most importantly make her leave the saviours to live with him and his 'family' in Alexandria.
It was around lunch when he finally decided to return, everyone looked at him when he walked passed but none spoke a word as they knew he was 'different' from the start. But Rick knew something wasn't right. After spending years with him during the apocalypse he learned to know when his friends weren't feeling themselves.
"Where have you been all day?" Rick asked him, starting a conversation with Daryl, even though he knew Daryl didn't want to talk.
"Out"
"Out where?" Daryl had walked ahead, leaving Rick to slightly jog after him to keep up.
He started to sound like an annoying child so Daryl didn't answer, he just walked on and pretended Rick wasn't there.
He had gotten to the steps of the porch to his house before Ricks hand touch his shoulder and lightly pulled his body around to face him. His eyes were full of worry for his best friend.
Rick wanted to ask him a question, but his answer will go one of two ways. Either he will explain everything or go completely mental, and Rick had a fair idea of what one it would be...
"Is it that girl..?" Rick carefully asked him, slowing down his words and trying to keep Daryl calm as the last time she was 'mentioned' it ended on a screaming match and slamming doors.
He expected Daryl to do the same again but what surprised him was the nod of his head. "Yea"
Rick looked around before gesturing to Daryl to walk into the house so they could talk.
Daryl sat on a comfy light brown sofa that was placed in the middle of the dirty living room as Rick sat on a red velvet armchair across from him.
"Tell me about her" rick asked the question. Daryl sat back in the chair and rested his arms along the back and groaned.
"She's... she's gone" he said in disbelief before sitting forward and putting his hands on his face. Daryl didn't want to seem weak, but with a girl like her that's how he felt. He wanted to just cry until she returned, but he wouldn't unless it would work.
"Gone? What do you mean gone?"
"She said she needs to go back to her group.. but she won't return" there was no way Daryl would tell Rick she was part of the saviours, because if there was ever the slightest chance he could get her to leave and join him Rick wouldn't take the risk of letting anyone associated with Negan into their safe home.
