Dirty Little Secret

chapter forty-six

When lunch time rolled around, I was ready to go home and go back to bed. I felt like I was asleep on my feet. I go to my locker to get my lunch and I almost fall down.

"Whoa," Owen wrapped his arms around me. "Are you okay?" A frown etched onto his face as he looked down at me.

I nod. "Yeah."

He kept his arm around me as we headed towards the cafeteria. "See anywhere to sit?" I asked him, looking around. He must have spotted one since he leads me over to a table. Once we sat down, I put my head down on the table and sighed. I was feeling too tired. I close my eyes. 

I felt Owen put his hand on my back and lean closer to me. "Are you okay? Do you need to go home?"

"I'm really tired."

He rubbed a circle on my back. "Do you want to go to the nurse or go home?" He asked quietly.

"I want to go home, but you have to stay, I've already made you miss too much school."

He shook his head. "I'll come with you, I don't care."

"I'll just call my mum."

"Lani-bear," he said, his eyes showing how much he disapproved of letting me go home without him.

"Owen, you have to stay here." He sighed and nodded but I could tell he didn't want to, he wanted to come back with me. I call my mum and have her come pick me up.

"I'll walk you out," he said quietly, following behind me.

"Okay."

Once we were outside, he pulled me against him and kissed me. "I'll see you after school?"

I nod. "Yeah."

He kissed my forehead. "I've spent so much time with you, I know I'm going to miss you a lot."

"I'll miss you too."

When he finally let me go, my mum greeted me and helped me into the car. "Thanks mum." I smile.

"Are you okay?" She asked as we pulled out of the parking lot. "You didn't sound too good on the phone."

"I'm really tired."

She nodded. "I was the same when I was having you. Don't worry, it'll pass soon."

"I hope so, I dont like this feeling."

"When you get in, go up to your room and sleep. You'll feel better in no time."

I nod. "Okay mum."

When we pulled into the driveway, I went up to my room and flopped down on my bed, falling asleep instantly. I wake up and notice that I've only been asleep for an hour and that I really have to go to the bathroom. I get up and go use the bathroom. I get back into bed and I fall asleep quickly. The sound of my bedroom door opening makes me crack open my eyes to see Owen tiptoeing into my room.

"Owen?"

"Oh, sorry, did I wake you?" He frowned and sat down on the edge of my bed. I shake my head. He laid down next to me and stroked my cheek. "You okay?" He asked quietly.

"Yeah, still tired though." I snuggle up to him.

"Get some more sleep," he murmured, kissing my forehead. I nod and close my eyes, falling asleep again.

A few hours later, I woke up to the sound of Owen's soft humming. I smiled to myself and didn't open my eyes, wanting the moment to last. He's rubbing my back.

"You're awake, aren't you?" He asked quietly next to my ear.

I smile. "Yes."

He kissed my neck and smiled at me. "Good nap?"
