When I wake up its morning and Owen is actually asleep. I smile and see a nurse walk in. She tells me that the twins need to be fed and she hands me Nicole.
I smiled at her before she nodded and left the room, shutting the door behind her. I fed Nicole then Matt before placing them in their crib and kissing Owen's forehead. I needed to use the bathroom. I get up carefully and head to the bathroom here in my room. I need to take a shower too. I checked on the twins once more before I took a quick shower, eager to be back in there with them and Owen.
Once out of the shower, I feel much better. I look in the full length mirror. I'm not my old size, but I'm pretty close. I smiled at my reflection before walking back into my room and sitting down on the bed, being careful not to knock Owen. I look at my babies and smile. They're sound asleep. I laid down next to Owen, curling up next to him the best I could. I feel him pull me close, even though he's asleep. I kissed his neck softly before closing my eyes again. He doesn’t wake up, he stays asleep.
With a soft sigh, I think over everything that's happened recently. I couldn't help but think of Erica. I was pregnant for nine months and she couldn’t leave him alone and now the babies are actually here. I cant have her messing with my life. I bit my lip. She must know now that she can't have Owen, it's plain as day that she can't boss him around any more. I told Owen once and I wont tell him again. I'm not dealing with her shit now. My priority is the twins. I sighed, feeling bad instantly. It wasn't his fault that Erica was doing all of that to him. Owen shifted next to me and I knew he was awake.
"Hey baby." I say softly looking up at him. He nodded and gave me a small smile before looking at our babies. I kiss his chest and look at our babies too. Owen sat up and pulled me up with him as well.
"You alright Owen?"
He nodded. "Why would something be wrong?" He asked, looking at Matt and Nicole.
"You didn’t seem happy." I say. I look at the twins and Nicole is starting to get fussy. I carefully get her out of the crib and rub her tummy.
He shrugged. "I'm fine." He picked up Matt carefully and ran his fingers slowly down the side of his face, a loving expression on his face. I kiss his cheek and smile at my little ones. "Just let me know when you're ready to leave," he said quietly. "The nurse said you have to fill out some papers then you're free to go."
"I'm ready." I tell him. All I want is to go home and for him to be normal again.
He nodded and got up. "I'll go tell the nurse then," he said before disappearing from the room. I sigh. What is going on with him?
I pursed my lips when he walked back in. "What's going on?" I asked him, raising my eyebrows.
"What are you talking about?" he asks.
"Owen something is going on with you." I say sitting Nicole in the crib with Matt. "You're not your normal self."
"Nothing's going on," he assured me, giving me a small smile. "I've just been thinking a lot, that's all."
"The hell you have Owen. You've been acting weird for awhile now."
He stopped in the middle of the room and his smile dropped. "I'm sorry," he murmured, not meeting my gaze. "Is it alright if your parents take you home? I need... to go do something," he said softly.
I walk over to him and hug him. "I just want you to be alright." I kiss him softly.
He kissed me back before pulling away. "I need to go do something, I promise I'll be to you straight after. I'll phone your parents so they can pick you up." I nod and go back over to the twins. I change them and put them in their carriers. I change into some shorts and a short sleeve shirt since its now summer.
I watched silently as Owen kissed the twins on the forehead, gave them a small smile and stood up straight, looking over at me. "See you later," he said quietly. I returned his small smile and waved bye.
"Bye." I sit with the twins and wait for my parents.
Fifteen minutes later my parents walked in. "You okay, sweetie?" My mum asked, picking up the carrier with Nicole in. I nodded and picked up Matt.
"Lets just go home." I say quietly while my dad picks up my bag and the baby bag.
We walked outside towards my parent's car. "Did Owen say where he was going?" My dad asked softly. I shook my head and looked down at Matt. We all get in the car and my dad drives us home.
Once home mum and I carry the twins upstairs to my room and dad carries the bags again. I put the twins in their crib and let them sleep. I turn on the baby monitor and grab the hearing device for it before walking downstairs to get something to eat. I sat down at the counter and eat my sandwich, listening to the twins sleep. Once I finished it, I put my head down on the table and sighed. I need Owen. I need him more than anything in the world. I love him so much and I just brought his kids into the world. I can't do this without him.
