Saving the hybrid went quite well. At least Amelia hadn't expected worse. Of course she knew that she couldn't just walk into Marcel Gerard's lion's hole and fetch some tortured Original. She knew that she had to fight and that her enemy was way stronger than her.

But she managed to fulfill her mission. She freed Niklaus Mikaelson. The price she paid for that was high. Amelia would die, because she got bitten by the beast. His bite was nasty, lethal to any vampire, even to the Original vampires.

For her whole life Amelia has tried to prevent the making of such a weapon. She watched a lot of people trying and failing. Everyone was in the belief that the Mikaelsons were invincible. Her task of protection became quite easier when the fact that all vampires were bound to their original sire came to light. Until some found out that it would come in quite handy to wipe out an entire sire line. But still no one seemed to come near a weapon or a spell of unbinding.

Lucien Castle flew under Amelia's radar which still makes her nervous. She thought she had her eyes and ears everywhere, but this one was clever. When they managed to kill him, she was relieved, but then dearest Elijah had to be dumb enough to kill little Marcellus. Amelia could understand his rage, but understanding was not on her to do list. It was pretty annoying that she couldn't just kill him like all the others.

After being bitten, she managed to get to her apartment. The hallucinations began surprisingly quickly after the infection. This venom was a masterpiece.

The vampire had already endured a lot of wolf-bites through her lifetime, but they were nothing compared to this. This was more painful, the hallucinations felt even more real. She tried to lay down and close her eyes, waiting for this to be over.

Amelia loved masquerade balls. The aura of mystery filled the ball room, secrets were hidden behind masks. It was the perfect event for vampires like herself to feed on the locals without being recognized. They could live peacefully among the noble families, without the fear of being caught. No one would think that monsters of the night used them as food.

It came in quite handy that the Mikaelsons seemed to share her excitement. Rebekah must've had fun decorating, the room screamed extravagance. Her mother had always told Amelia that she had a blonde friend that loved everything shimmering and golden. It seemed to carry on on the Original's vampire life.

Amelia herself rooted for darker colors. She wore an elegant dress of dark purple with some light golden elements. Every man in the room stared at her beauty. They all were curious who would be the unknown new lady hiding her beauty behind a mask.

She had sworn herself to stay in the shadows, she still could at this ball even with every male creature wanting her. The mask would keep her secret and she wouldn't get near any of the hosts'. Or at least she thought so.

From time to time, Amelia wandered around the room, having an eye on the Mikaelsons while declining every offer to dance. It would be an eventful evening and the young vampire couldn't be distracted. For her master she needed to watch the sceneries that would unfold in front of her. The first step to end „always and forever".

Her eye fell on the second oldest Mikaelson. Elijah. Her hands curled into fists when she caught glimpse of him. Sometimes Amelia suspected that her master heightened her hatred towards her sire. Or was it just vampirism in general? She heard that with being turned, the senses and characteristics of the persons would become more stronger, but that it wouldn't turn anyone in a completely different person. With Amelia, it was different. The kind young mother that lived in a small village had disappeared. A monster that consisted of hatred and anger with the shape of small girl seeming to mean no harm was left. Her kind smile had cooled into the gaze of ice, her mind had only one goal: destroying Elijah Mikaelson. The man, that ruined her life twice.
