After last night's events, Amelia was even more broken than she was before. She hadn't spoken a word since Lucifer left her alone in her room. Being alone was devastating right now. She was all on her own with her destructive thoughts, whenever she closed her eyes the scene of the devil taking her body was shown like a movie. It somehow had felt like that. As if she was just watching it, just with the physical and mental pain adding.

Amelia wasn't sure if she would ever get rid of this feeling. She felt dirty, humiliated and hurt. Of course she knew that it wasn't her fault but she felt like she betrayed Elijah with letting it happen. But she had no choice. She could just hope that this would never happen again. Even though she had the lingering feeling that this wasn't everything the devil had in store for her.

The heretic locked herself in her room, not able to bear with Lucifer's presence right now. It was disgusting. She slept with her husband's father. Elijah would hate her, she was sure of it. Amelia wanted to cry and scream so badly, but she couldn't. It felt like she was lost in her own body, not in control anymore. She could just sit there and stare at the door, not able to think about what would happen next.

Anyways, she also didn't have a choice in this matter. Lucifer was in charge, he would tell her what to do. Because she sold herself to protect her family, even though she hated the Mikaelson's for so long, she became a Mikaelson by marrying Elijah.

But she knew that at some point Elijah would need to move on. He couldn't wait for her forever, his family needed him more than she did and she was lost. She would have to serve the devil until fate decided to release her by death. Which could take a while as she was immortal and she would never have the courage to kill herself by taking off her daylight ring in the sun.

It took her until the evening to get out of her bed, her hunger driving her crazy. She already looked pale, her throat burnt like fire, deep blue circles were under her eyes. When she walked past Lucifer, she didn't even spare him a glance went directly out to find someone to feed on.

Fortunately it was already late and people in the city were already drunk enough to not witness Amelia grabbing a guy by the wrist and dragging him to a dark alleyway. She didn't had the patience to compel him, so she just covered his mouth with her hand and pressed him hard against the wall. When the thick liquid covered her rough lips, she let out a moan and just enjoyed it until he stopped struggling. With an annoyed sigh she let go of him and compelled him to forget.

Amelia had to steady herself at the wall when he was gone. She didn't have enough, she wasn't even close to being satisfied which was strange for her. Never had she had a problem with staying in control. Maybe it was caused by the devastating events of last night.

"Are you alright?"

The heretic closed her eyes when she heard Elijah's voice closely behind her. Finally. She needed him more than ever, so she didn't waste any time and fell into his comforting arms, feeling his warmth, the light lifting of his chest when he breathed, his gentle hands on her hair. This man had impeccable timing.

"Thank god you're here."

He had a confused and worried look on his face when he pulled his wife back to examine her closely. It was like he saw right through her, which wasn't exactly hard because usually Amelia wasn't a person to let her emotions flow easily.

"What has he done to you?"

Elijah stroked a strand of messy hair out of her face. Amelia looked away and it seemed like her face turned to stone right in front of him. He wanted to urge her to tell him everything but they were interrupted by someone stepping into the alleyway.

"What a lovely couple. It's so nice to see young love reuniting."

Both of their heads snapped in the direction the new voice came from. It wasn't new particularly, both of them knew this voice all too much. Amelia flinched at its sound.

The Original stepped in front of his wife in a protective manner, pushing her behind him. He had a determined look on his face, he would do everything to protect Amelia. His back muscles flexed under his suit jacket, he was ready to fight.

"Are you really hiding behind him like a coward, Amelia? I expected more of you."

Lucifer laughed. Fear ran through Amelia's veins, making her blood and her whole body froze in motion. She held onto Elijah's arm, she couldn't let him go into a fight he couldn't win. The devil was too strong, he could kill Elijah within the blink of an eye.

"I won't let you hurt her again."

Elijah growled. Hatred burnt deep inside him, both for Lucifer and himself. He hated that his blood was in his veins, making it possible that he inherited some of his traits. Since he found out who his real father was, Elijah found out a lot about himself. It put him to the edges of his existence, he didn't know if he would ever come clean with himself again. The red door came more and more to surface, he wasn't the same, kind of honorable man he was. But was he ever? Over his thousand years of lifetime he had killed recklessly, all in the name of family. It was a bad excuse. Deep inside he knew that he often killed of pure joy. Even now he felt it. He wanted to rip Lucifer to shreds, bloodlust clouded his mind. His fangs grew longer and his eyes were a deep red as he faced his father and lookalike.

"Oh, dear Elijah, I would never hurt her. Amelia should know."

His smile grew even wider and something in Elijah broke loose. Amelia's screams couldn't stop him as he attacked Lucifer. He was halfway to him when the devil sent him flying into the wall opposite him and held him some meters over the floor in a invisible chocking grasp.

"I could kill him here and now."

Lucifer looked Amelia right in the eyes. She begged him to release him, offered everything she got. The heretic was desperate about her husband's life and fell to her knees.

"But I'll be merciful. I'm even that kind-hearted to let you go, little witch. You can go with him and live your life with your beloved husband for now."

He let Elijah fell to the floor and the Original stood up with a grunt and rushed to Amelia's side, helping her up to her feet. She grabbed his arms to feel that he was still here and swore to herself that she would stop him from attacking again. Amelia needed him, she wouldn't know what to do if he died. She even felt kind of grateful that Lucifer let him live, but wondered why he did that. He didn't seem to care about his son and he gave multiple warnings about him interfering. But right now that wasn't any of her interest. Elijah lived, he was next to her and what Lucifer said...was it a bad joke?

The devil stepped closer to the couple, coming to a halt when he was eye to eye with Elijah.

"Just know that you all live by my mercy."

He gave Amelia a knowing grin and disappeared, leaving Elijah and Amelia alone. Somehow she had a very bad feeling inside her. This couldn't be it. He wouldn't just keep her around for months and then suddenly release her.

But then she felt her husband's arms around her and the thoughts were pushed aside. Being in his arms was the place were she was supposed to be and deep inside she knew that she had to enjoy every minute that she could spend with him, because every moment could be their last.
