Chapter 20

Niall

"Louis, what is he doing here?", I ask as we get out of the car.

"Niall, please calm down. I asked him over", Louis says stopping me before I go towards the person standing on our porch

"You invited him here. Knowing how I feel about him. Really?", I say in shock. I feel like my best friend just stabbed me in the back.

"Niall, if you would set down and listen to him you would find he's not the monster you take him to be", Louis explained. Maybe he was right. But he's not the one that lost his career. I am. So I will be selfish for a bit if I choose to be.

"Yeah, well, you're not the one that had their career yanked from them either", I shot back at him

"Yeah, and you didn't lose a family member that day either, Niall", Louis spat out. Maybe he's right. But God, I can't get the images out of my head of that night. I can't get the doctors words out of my head. You will never play footie again. Everything going on in my head stopped me from listening to Liam. Yes, he is the one I am fixing to face so that I can get in my house.

"Maybe you're right Louis. But everything playing in my head makes it hard to forgive him", I say taking a deep breath. "Maybe one day I will. But that day is not today", I tell him as I make my way to the door. "You're still my best mate though", I tell him before walking past Liam to get to the door. I go in and go straight to the guestroom. I had to at least let Louis know that we are still on good terms. I couldn't and will not let this destroy our friendship. We have been friends for way too long to let that happen.

Once I get to the guestroom, I set on my bed and pull out my phone. I just scan through my social media and check in with some of the team players. I haven't done that in awhile. Other than that my mind isn't really on anything besides this Liam situation. Oh and those wonderful breath-taking kisses with Harry. I can't wait to have his lips on mine again. They are very addicting. After a bit of sitting here and chatting with with a couple of team-mates I feel the need to piss badly. I get up slowly grabbing my cane and slowly hurry to the toilet. The whole way I am telling my body to please do not relieve yourself yet. I make it out in the hall and faintly hear Louis talking to someone. Liam. Liam is still here? I don't have time to think about that right now as my bladder is screaming at me at this point. I barely make it to the toilet before I let go of everything my poor baldder was holding. When I got done I washed my hands and then hobbled back out in the hall. I stood and listened for a bit. Where I was they couldn't see me, I couldn't see them. But I could hear them quite well

I don't know what else to do Louis. I want so bad to talk to him

Give him time Li, he will eventually come around. He is still trying to accept everything as it is

I understand that one. You know, I still have every voicemail on my phone that my sister sent me in the recent days before her death. I listen to them daily just so I wont forget her voice. I can't let go of her. Knowing I could've saved her and didn't

Liam, you couldn't have. You are not to blame for any of this. Her stupid ass boyfriend did this to her. If I had been in your shoes and that was my sister, I would have freaked out as well when she started seizing. You weren't drunk or high while driving. You were trying to save your sisters life. He will understand that soon, ok. You need to forgive yourself as well.

How can you be so nice to me? You were in that car with him, Louis

Because I am able to look at the situation differently than he can right now. And rightfully so. I can still play, he cannot. It's hard for him to grasp onto that. But he will eventually. Again, just give him time. You both need to understand where each others coming from.
