Chapter 8 Pt. 1

Percy's P.O.V.

The morning was calm and quiet. Mostly because everyone was still asleep, but after yesterday and how long most of us stayed up watching dank memes *cough me and Jason and Piper*.

I remembered sharing a bed with Annabeth. She was snuggled next to me, and the sight made me feel warm inside. She had a piece of hair on her face, and before I could move it aside, she mumbled "Hey Seaweed Brain."

I whispered, "You've been up?"

"Up long enough to catch you staring at me." She smirked.

"Oh...um-um I-I-"

"I don't mind. Instead," She snuggled deeper into my chest, "I could do this all day." I gave her a light kiss on her forehead.

"I would too." She just smiled in return.

After a few more minutes of silence and more snuggles, she asked, "Have you had more dreams?"

"The weird visions? No. Ever since we've made it here, the visions stopped."

"Do you think it's because we're getting closer to the source?"

"Maybe," I yawned and stretched my arms, "But it doesn't matter right now. This trip is supposed to be stress-free." At this time, everyone started to wake up.

Leo, on the other hand, was still out. A lot of us tried different methods to wake him up, but this boy was a heavy sleeper.

The sight of him like this made Piper giggle. "Damn Annabeth, how hard did you hit him?"

She shrugged. "Don't know. Hard enough to make sure he learned his lesson."

Many more unsuccessful methods later, nothing seemed useful. "Oh gods, he isn't dead right?" Hazel asked worryingly.

"I would've felt it, so no, sadly his annoying self is still there," Nico said poking a finger at his head. It triggered nothing.

"Hmm, let me try something." Reyna turned her body to face Leo, bent down a little, and gave him a quick smack across the back of his head. His eyes opened instantly and when they saw Reyna, he smirked.

"Hey Mamacita, finally decide to hop on the Mcshizzle train?" She rolled her eyes.

"Get up Valdez, we gotta head out to the road."

"But what's leaving without something to eat." He whined, then patted his tummy. "Once again, I'm hungry."

"I'm hoping you got our good sides." Piper joked as we continued down the road.

Annabeth was looking through her camera revealing the many pictures they had taken on their last tourist stop in Nevada, which was the Hoover Dam.

I signed in content. "Ahh, the Hoover Dam. So many memories there."

"Good ones I guess?" Piper said.

"Well I met Rachel there, and it's also where Grover and I made our inside joke." I snickered and said..."Heh...the Dam bathroom." But when I saw the others look at me blankly, I coughed and said, "Never mind."

More blank faces.

*insert cricket noise*...nah I'm joking...or not 😛

Thank the gods that Nico turned the radio back on.

And then we got cursed...
