Annabeth's P.O.V.
By the time we made it on scene, the entire area was covered in smoke, as if the incident barely occurred. We looked around to get a better surrounding, but the smoke was too thick for our sight. It was worse to breath in; I inhaled wrong and I had a whole coughing fit.
"How are we going to see through here?" Hazel asked, squinting her eyes.
Percy had his ballpoint pen in his hand; "I'll walk around a bit. Maybe I'll see something."
"Be careful Seaweed Brain, we don't know what's going on here." I was worried that something could pop out at any minute. He winked at me in return.
"Don't worry about me Wise Girl. I'll be okay." A warm smile crept onto my lips. I love it when he reassures me.
His figure faded away in the smoke. Meanwhile we did a bit of looking around ourselves just to speed things up. Even though Percy told me not to worry, I still had a bit of anxiety. We were completely at a blind spot in here. My deep thinking halted to a stop when I heard a high-pitched yelp. "Eigh!"
"Hey! So not cool!"
Percy! I cursed under my breath and told everyone to prepare themselves. We silently ran to the source of Percy's voice, and there we encountered a questionable scene. Percy was standing there, next to a girl with orange skin, green eyes, and a very revealing suit. I was taken aback; she had alien-like features, the skin and eyes, as well as her levitating posture, yet she looked very mesmerizing. I wondered if she was a daughter of Aphrodite.
Suddenly, we heard a set of voices appearing from another direction, and from the smoke emerged strangers we didn't know. They looked like they were around our age, but they wore such theatrical clothing; there was a girl with a purple cloak enveloped around her, a boy with green skin, a half man half robot, and a boy with a black mask and spiky hair.
The one with the green skin spoke first. "Um Star? Who are your friends?"
Percy clicked on the ballpoint pen, and out came Riptide. "The better question is, who are you?" As if on cue, we all slowly unleashed our things too.
The half man and half robot lifted his arm and almost instantly, he had a blaster aimed straight for us. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
Then the boy in the black mask spoke. "We don't have to fight." Like he can tell me what to think! My fighting instincts began to kick in.
"But we will if we have to." The girl in the cloak made me feel anxious. She had a bad aura on her.
"Man, this feels awkward yo," said the boy with green skin.
The girl with orange skin, whose name I'm assuming is Star, looked at us and then her friends with a worried face. "Maybe the misunderstanding?"
"Wait a minute!" Leo began, "You guys can see his sword? Her dagger?" He pointed at Riptide, and then at Piper's dagger. I mentally face-palmed myself. I was too shocked to notice that they could see through the Mist.
"Um, yeah! They're literally all up in our faces..." Cyborg lowered his blaster, but didn't turn it off. "Now, who are all of you?"
"I'm confused. You are all half-bloods yes?" Hazel flicked Frank's ear.
"Frank! You can't just say that so openly!"
"Half-bloods? Okay that's something I've never heard before." Black mask boy put his staff away. "Okay, I think we all started off the wrong foot." He motioned his friends to settle down. "I'm Robin, the leader of the Teen Titans. We capture criminals and keep Jump City safe."
Percy turned Riptide back into its pen form. "I'm Percy. Nothing special here, just a couple of friends on a trip." The two boys shook hands, a sign of truce.
"Wait! So does that mean you guys are superheros?" Leo's face lightened up with excitement.
"I don't mean to brag, but yeah we are. Ya know, saving citizens, kicking bad guy butt, it's a pretty big deal." The green skin guy's friend rolled his eyes.
"Don't listen to Beast Boy, he's always running his mouth. I'm Cyborg by the way."
The girl with orange skin spun with glee. "And I am Starfire! Please, may we know the names of each other?"
"Um, could we do that somewhere else?" Jason circled his hand around the smoke. "Not the type of setting to talk in you know?" As if on cue, the smoke twirled around his finger.
"Whoa! How'd you do that?" The look on Starfire's face was of complete awe.
Jason's face reddened. "You...saw that?"
"Yes! That was the amazing trick!" Jason's face relaxed a bit.
"Oh yes! Just a trick! A trick all right!" Piper jabbed him in the rib to quiet him down.
"So...can we leave now?" The girl with the purple cloak spoke again. Her voice was quiet, but it had a powerful and menacing tone to it. Instantly, all of us except her friends became still.
This made Beast Boy gasp. "P-Pizza time?" Cyborg then looked at him and together they yelled, "PIZZA TIME!"
