Chapter 3

Annabeth's P.O.V.

We all knew what would come on this trip...boredom. After our energy had drained out we parted our ways. Jason and Piper were in the front talking. Leo was telling corny jokes in attempt to impress Reyna.

"Why did the calf cross the road?" He said. She shrugged.

"Why Valdez, why did it cross the road?"

"To get to the udder side." She rolled her eyes smiled.

"Nice." She said.

Hazel was weaving what looked like a bracelet. Frank was watching Hazel, while dwindling his thumbs. Nico had his earbuds on listening to what I thought was rock. Percy was asleep (unfortunately on my shoulder), and I was thinking of some design ideas for the temples in the camp and on Mount Olympus.

Sadly, when your in a car with a Leo, it starts to get a bit annoying. Just a bit.

"Why did the chewing gum cross the road? He was stuck to the chicken's foot." He wasn't trying to impress anymore, but to just make the ride "fun." And I really don't blame him. The road was pretty much grass and pavement and signs. But each joke would get more annoying. I think Nico snapped because a dark aura faintly glowed, and sent the chills around the car. I shivered as the dark radiation passed by, but Leo. He looked terrified.

"I can make it happen." He said, putting his earbuds back on.

Leo didn't talk for a while.

I also noticed Percy started turning and mumbling stuff I couldn't really make out. Meh, maybe a bad dream. Then, he would turn more, and his face looked like he was, worried or something like that. And nothing scares us two as much as the stuff down in Tartarus. And if he was like this, he was thinking of something bad. I lingered my fingers on his temple and whispered in his ear.

"Shh, it's okay, I'm right here." He calmed down, but then soon again, he started panicking again. And I would continue my attempts to calm him down. Oh, if only I can know what's going on.

Percy's P.O.V.

There I was again. In the same place with the weird thing. Except in this one, his back was turned from me the whole time. And he spoke, with a deep and rumbling voice.

"Foolish girl. I will return and I will conquer this planet like I have done with other planets before." It had said. But to what?

In the very far distance, a figure was floating in midst air in level of his face. That's a pretty tall height from here, probably higher than the Statue of Liberty, or even the Empire State Building!

"I have you imprisoned. You can't escape. You won't." It was the girl's voice probably. She sounded about my age.

"You're only an obstacle. Once you are finished, I will have Planet Earth under my slavery, and all life on here will be extinguished."

"Then I'll stop you. I have before and I can do it again."

"That's where you are wrong. Being imprisoned in your little mind world made me stronger than I am. Thanks to you, I will rise and everyone will know me as Trigon, Conquerer of Worlds!"

This time, I had my sword with me, but after hearing all that, my legs couldn't move. I was shocked. This didn't look like any monster I've seen in my life. There hasn't been any Prophecies told lately that I know. Also, I'm pretty sure this isn't some other god. They would look this ugly. Well, expect Ares. But even that remark did not affect me. I ran behind a figure of rock and hid behind it. A very weirdly and shaped rock. Once I saw it all, I gasped and backed away.

That. Is. A. Freaking. Person. I noticed there were more down the street, sitting on benches, some in groups, children with their parents. It was horrible. I wondered if the monster, Trigon did this.

While the two still talked and threatened, my mind went to other places. Could it be...him? Could it be Tartarus himself? If it was, life could be over as we know it. When Annabeth and I fought him, he was very powerful. And we hadn't even destroyed him, even with a Titan on our side. But then I knew, why would he be up here. He hates up here. So he was off the list and I blew a sigh of relief. But still, this thing sounded very dangerous.

I realized that I wasn't listening on them, but something happened. He laughed his horrible laugh and said, "Be gone girl." He swatted the air like a fly, and the girl fell. I ran to try to catch her, but the dream fuzzed up and ended. My eyes opened and the first thing I see is a face full of Annabeth.

"Seaweed Brain, you okay?" She asked, looking worried.

"Yea I am. Just a bad dream. Why?"

"You kept tossing and turning, and you looked, well distressed. I kissed her forehead. "I'm okay." I did ok sign. She laughed.

"Anyway, where are we?" As I looked around, no one was in the car except us, and a sleeping Hazel in the backseat.

"Gas station. We were running low on gas, so we found one near the Pennsylvania border. They're just getting some snacks, or they went on a bathroom break."

My eyes widened. "How long was I out?"

"A few hours. Did you even get enough sleep?"

"No. I couldn't at all. Excitement got to me." I admitted sheepishly.

"Well, you want to stretch your legs. It'll be nice." I nodded.

We walked around the station, while Nico and Reyna filled up the tank. Everyone else was doing a snack or bathroom break.

I noticed that the radio from the car was still on, and a new song played. And I don't know how, but somehow Leo's elf like ears must've heard it all the way from inside the store, because his face perked up, and he ran straight outside yelling, "This song's my jam!"

Jason and Piper came out from the store, too, mostly to see what he was doing. He started dancing in front of Reyna. Of course, another attempt to make her laugh.

"Money rains from the sky above"

"But keep the change cause I've got enough"

"A little time and some tenderness"

He started doing a little shimmy and pointed at her. Reyna tried to keep a serious face. Jason and Piper were recording on their phones, and I was laughing. Hazel just woke up, and was surprised to see Leo up and running. Nico continued to fill the tank, but was looking at him too.

"You'll never buy my love"

"No other thing that's as precious to no other, no other"

"Than a heart that feels and a heart that's true"

"Something that you got to notice, girl"

He continued to lip sync and "dance". Soon, I think we couldn't take it anymore. We burst out laughing. Tears actually came out from my eyes. Reyna didn't want to laugh, so she put a hand over mouth and bit her finger.

"Alright Leo, cmon. Finish your dance or we'll leave you here." Jason said putting an arm around his neck.

"Alright but, did I make you laugh?" He asked looking at Reyna.

"I'll admit it, you almost did, but sadly, I didn't." He looked disappointed.

"I'll get you next time Ramirez." He grumbled.

I tried to make it somewhat funny. I tried. And I added the song because I felt someone like him would like it. Plus, it's one of my favorites. Well, thanks for reading my story so far. Means a lot to me to know you like it. So, yea thanks so much. 😜😛😝
