Sunlight streamed through the windows of the cafe, which currently housed the few odd patrons, most sitting at the various little tables and eating contently. Coriander stood at the counter, handing a small bag of patrons to the man in front of her. A bell chime signified the arrival of another person to the cozy little building. She glanced over the mans shoulder as he dug through his wallet. She smiled, seeing who it was.
"Hey. Give me a sec and ill be right with you."
The man handed her some money, and she handed him his change. He walked towards the door as a tan skinned girl walked up to the counter.
"So Spade, what'll it be?"
"Two doughnuts and none of your bullshit."
"What kind and we dont sell that"
"Cor. Please."
"What? We dont. Now what kind."
"Just glazed. And dont play dumb."
Coriander turned towards the display where all of the baked goods were kept. She looked over at spade as she reached in to grab the request pastries...though froze upon seeing the sly look on her friends face.
"Why do you have that look? That never leads to anything good." She said as she slowly grabbed the pastries.
"You know why."
Spade leaned in closer as Coriander reached under the counter, pulling out a little white paper bag.
"No, Spade, i dont think i-"
"You like her~"
If it was possible to turn into the living embodiment of pure red, than thats just what she did.
"I-um-I dont know what your talking about."
"Oh, dont give me that. Ive seen the way you look at Miryenn. You toaally want a piece of that."
"No i dont!"
"Yes you do."
"No, i dont.
"Yes, infact, you do."
"Well...you have no proof!"
"You didnt deny it that time."
"It still dint mean you got proof."
"Ive got videos and pictures from my phone along with the testimonials of almost everyone else you know."
"..."
"Ah, got you there, didnt I?"
"...mmmmmm"
"Hm? Whats that?"
"...fine fine! I like her!"
"A-ha! Knew it!"
"Why did you need to bring it up?"
"Because you always tease me for my crushes so revenge."
"Yeah, well..." she turned towards the cash register, pushing a few buttons.
"3.49."
"What?"
"Your doughnuts cost 3.49 total."
"Oh." She reached into her pocket, pulling out three dollars a few coins. She pulled a couple from her hand before handing her friend 3.50.
"So, you gonna ask her out?"
"What?"
"Miryenn. Are you gonna ask her out on a date?"
"Um...well...i just..."
she somehow managed to grow a deeper shade of red.
""Well?"
"I dont know. Probably not."
"Aw, come on, you two would be so cute together!"
"Yeah, but i think she has a thing for the blond guy in her sociology class."
"The one who wears flannel."
"Yeah, him."
"He has a girlfriend."
"Well, what about that ginger girl in her-"
"Mi doesnt really care much for her."
"Yeah, but what about."
"Cori, come on. She enjoys spending time with you, And we know she'd probably go for it. So why not?"
"Hmmmm..."
"Come on Cor, do it."
"Hmmmm..."
"Come on Cor."
"hmmmm..."
"Come on." She pulled a coin out of the register and quickly shut it.
"If i say i will will you cut it out?"
"Sure."
"Good. Then here's you food and here's your penny. Now get out of my sight."Two updates in one week? Im just as shocked as you. Thanks for reading!
