Just a bit of pointless sibling things .^.

"Come on, this is simple stuff. You can do it."

Autmn stared forward, her narrow gaze focused on the bright red apple on the ground a few feet away. A soft breeze drifted through the air, shifting her short brown locks as they barely brushed her shoulders. She took a deep breath and, without breaking her gaze, lifted her hand, her fingers tightening around the smooth birch wood that made up the small staff as she pointed the small ginger gem on top at the apple. She bit her lip, feeling the familiar sensation of a slight tingle in her fingertips as they shimmered with a gentle golden light, swirling from her hands and up the wand to the gem on top, which began to shimmer with the same golden glow.  A small bead of sweat made its way down her face as she placed all of her focus upon the fruit and the light, attempting to command the golden glimmer. Slowly, it began to creep up the apple, wrapping around and lifting it slightly foo the ground as premature excitement filled her mind.

Of course, her hopes were quickly dashed as it stopped halfway up the apple and began to flicker in and out before vanishing, brambles and oaken branches shooting up from below, piercing through the apple before it could hit the ground. The light in on her fingers vanished as she threw the wand to the ground, the shimmer around it pulling away like steam from hot water.

"Damn it!" She shouted at no one in particular, "fucking damn it!"

She kicked the ground, grumbling a string of unintelligible words as she paced around the newly formed growth in frustration before unleashed another kick with her little bare feet, this time at the branches and thorny brambles. She yelped as the prickers nipped her feet, stumbling back. She grumbled, studying her stinging limb as a pair of blue eyes gazed over her shoulder.

"What're you doing?"

Autmn jumped and, with a startled yelp, fell onto the grassy ground below her feet.  She whipped her head in the direction of the voice, annoyed honey eyes meeting bright blue eyes framed by a freckled face, dirty blond curls falling to her elbows, with bangs held back by a flower clip.

"Oh, hey Ursa. What is it?"

"Well, i did come out here to tell you dinner is ready, but now im curious. What are you doing out here, anyhow?"

She pushed herself to her feet and pointed to the mess of sticks and twigs stabbing through the apple on top.

"Well i was trying to use magic to bring that apple over here to, but-"

Ursa turned towards the fruit, allowing the fingertips on her left hand to shimmer with little white stars. She sent it towards the apple, watching as the surrounded it within an instant, lifting it from the branches and moving it through the air before dropping it into Autmn's hands. With a flick of her fingers, Ursa watched as the stars vanished from the air. Autmn stared at it for a moment before curling her fingers around it tightly and chucking it across the yard. Ursa turned towards it and quickly flicked her fingers as it soared over the grass, once again wrapping it in stardust hardly inches before it hit the ground.  She whirled back around towards Autmn.

"Hey what was that for?" Autmn flinched slightly at the bit of harshness in her tones.

"Sorry Minor, im just frustrated"

"Frustrated? But why?"

"Because you were able to make the apple move like you wanted, and I couldn't."

"What do you mean? Ive seen you move much bigger things with magic. How is this any different?"

"Because those times I vines and branches to move things." To emphasize her point, she twitched her fingers as maple branches lifted from the ground below the apple, plucking it from the air and moving the branch towards them before dropping the previously-impaled fruit into Ursa's hands.

"Levitation is one of the most basic and simple forms of magic that there is. I mean, you can do it, Zach can do it-heck even Rosie can do it and she's like five! But im struggling to make it work at all."

"Hmm...did you use that little wand thing Kefira gave you? she said it amplifies  the user's ma-"

"I've tried that! Ive tried physical magic, objectinal magic, spoken magic, mental magic, even alchemy! But none of it works! It supposed to be the easiest, most basic level magic and I just cant do it!" Ursa stared at her adopted little sister as she shook with frustration, her shoulders tense and her face slightly flushed with anger. She sighed, her eyes switching from studying the ground to studying her hands.

"...how am i supposed to do my task if i cant even do this?"

Ursa was pulled into a sudden silence, at a bit of a loss for words. She found her gaze drifting towards Autmn's hands as well, noticing how her sister studied the space where her right pinkie finger should have been.

"..so?"

Autmn looked up, meeting Ursa's gentle gaze with confusion.

"What?"

"So what if you aren't able to do it? It wont make you any worse at your job if you cant. Heck, I cant even try to do some of the stuff you do without messing up and making a fool of myself. Im just not good with that kind of magic, and we both know that not every person can do every kind of magic, or at least if they could they'd need to be some kind of weird god or something."

But, its levitation, everyone who uses magic can do it-"

"But you cant. And thats fine." She placed a hand on Autmn's shoulder.

"That doesn't mean that your any worse at what you do. In fact, i cant think of anyone who can do it better than you." Ursa smiled kindly. Autmn smiled back before pulling her older sister into a hug. Ursa flinched before gently hugging her back.

"Thanks, minor."

"Anytime, little leaf."

Moments later, they both get the shit scared out of them by Zach as he yeels at them to come in before dinner gets cold. Thanks for reading!
