Hey! Its been a little while since i updated this story, which, in reality i dont really have an excuse for actually but : /
In any event, this story is sorta an au of another story of mine (a piece of which i posted a few chapters ago). It's kiiiinda a role-reversal type deal. Sorta. I guess. I dont know. Enjoy.

Alex was confused.

Now, that statement didnt mean much, not really.  Alex was normally confused about something-a spell, a story, a history lesson, you name it and it's probably puzzled him at least once, if not multiple times. But, even compared to everything else, this had stumped him more than anything else-and for the longest time, as well.

He didnt know who she was,
Or where they were,
Or why they were there in the first place.
He didnt understand why she seemed so familiar,
Or why this place felt important at all.
All he knew about the burnt-down building before him was that he had been dreaming about this place for as long as he could remember, just like he was doing now.

The sky was clear, the sun shining down on the destroyed building and the small yard before it, overrun with tall grass and weeds dancing in the breeze, just as it always seemed to do. He shifted his gaze from the ruined structure to the shorter brunette laying next to him.

"Hey Rosaline?"
She cracked open one eye "hmm?"
"Do I...do I know you?"
"Of course you do Alexander! We talk all the time!"
"No, i dont mean in dreams!" Rosaline sat up. "in reality, ros."
"Im...not sure what you mean."
" I mean, I know you from dreams, yeah, but outside of dreams? In real life? Have I ever even met you?"
"Hmm...not really sure. I have met a lot of people, though, so maybe. But, if we did, wouldn't you remember?"
He turned to face the old house.
"Thats just it, i dont know. I dont remember my mother, I dont remember my father. Family, friends...i dont remember anyone." Rosaline studied him sympathetically for a moment before following his gaze, staring at the overgrowth that was growing all along the homestead.
"Well, if it means anything alex, i cant remember my family either...well my birth family anyway."
"What do you think happened to them?"
"Who knows? Could be anything. Maybe they're still out there somewhere, and maybe your are too. Heck, maybe we're from the same family! Point is, I dont know if we've ever really met, or if we're ever gonna meet in the future. But, what I do know is that your here, im here, we're both right here. It may just be a dream, but isnt that enough?" They turned towards each other a slight smile on Alexander's face before he wrapped his arms around her in a hug.
"Yeah, its enough."
