Marcie's POV:

"Hold her down." the burly man ordered the three guys standing around me and they obeyed.

I struggled to get free as I watched a small knife coming towards me.  The man began to cut a deep slit into my lower abdomen and I screamed out in pain, flailing my legs in every direction.

"You said you wouldn't hurt her!" Alec yelled as I looked over in his direction with horror on my face.  He struggled to pull himself across the floor but didn't make it very far.

"Alec!" I screamed as two men pulled him from the floor and dragged him away.

I stopped struggling as I knew I wouldn't get anywhere.  Eventually, I could barely move at all.  My eye sight faded away.

I awoke in a brightly lit room on a metal table.  The beams of light seemed to be pointed straight into my retinas.  I looked all around the room; it looked just like a hospital surgeons room except the walls were made of bricks.  I looked down at myself to discover I was naked.  There was a small white cloth draped over my torso with a small circle of blood soaked through.  Everything began to rush back into my head; Alec was brutally beaten and dragged away right before my eyes and I couldn't do anything about it.  I can't help but feel like Alec knew that mustache man.  Why was I here?  Were we both kidnapped by  strangers or was this a planned act of violence?  I slowly sat up, my head still spinning.  Then a strange man in a mask walked through some clear plastic draped for a door and handed me a cup with orange liquid.  I just stared at him.  I'm not drinking anything these monsters give me.

"Drink it." the man said.

I starred at him still, peering at my own reflection through his mask goggles.  I looked like shit.  My short hair was in every which direction and I had some blood spatter dried on my chest.  He doesn't deserve me to do anything for him.  For all I know he could be the reason I'm here in the first place.

"It'll help your strength.  Please, you can trust me." he took his mask off to show a sharply chiseled face and blonde wavy long hair.  His nose must have been broken a few times because it healed all crooked.  I gave him a mean look and snatched the cup from him.

"If I die I'm haunting you first." I said with a smirk as I gulped down the sweet concoction.  These past months have been the craziest I have ever experienced and I honestly just wanted to get rid of all the bull shit, no matter what that meant for me.   I threw the cup on the ground, swung my feet over the edge of the table and cupped my face in my hands.  I was tired of everything.  I didn't even know if Alec was alive or if I'd even see him again.

"I bet you're pretty confused, huh?" the guy asked out of no where chuckling to himself.  "I'm Jackson."  I didn't bother responding.  I just sat there motionless looking at the floor through my fingers.  "You know you shouldn't slouch like that.  You'll rip your stitches."

"Stitches?" I wondered looking down at my stomach.  There was a small line with seven stitches through it.

"Yeah, they put a bag of cocaine in there."

"What?" I yelled.  "Why the hell-"

"Shhhh. Be quiet I'm not even supposed to be here right now.  You aren't supposed to take off till the morning." he said covering my mouth with his big dirty hand.

"Take off?" I repeated back to him after I ripped his disgusting hand off my face.

"You don't know anything do you?" he laughed but I didn't think it was funny at all.  "You were brought here to be Cain's drug mule."

"Drug mule? What about Alec, did you bastards fill him with drugs too or did you just beat him to death."  Anger started to build up inside of me.  I could feel my fists ball up and my eyes began filling with tears.

"No, Alec was the one that brought you here." he looked at me confused as to why I didn't know.

"You know Alec..?" I said slowly almost not believing that Alec knew these horrible people.  Alec brought me here?  Why would he do that to me?

"Yeah, were actually pretty good buddies." he said looking at my confused, tear soaked face.  I think he almost felt sorry for me because he just began explaining everything to me.  "Alec works for Cain.  We all do.  Cain is one of the biggest drug lords in California.  Which is pretty funny because he's actually a cop as well.  I mean his cop friends obviously don't know he's a drug lord though.  Cain is just his nickname.  No one knows his real name."

"Why would Alec work for someone like him?  He's a nasty piece of shit of a man.  I hope he fucking dies."

"Whoa, careful there girly.  Don't let him hear you say that." he chuckled like it was a joke.  "Alec works for Cain because he has to pay off his debt.  Once he's paid it all off he can leave."

"His debt?" The more he explained the more confused I got.

The man sighed like he was getting annoyed.  "Let me just start from the top.  Cain made Alec a deal where he would get out of jail so long as Alec worked for him.  Alec is sent around the country kidnapping innocent girls to bring back to Cain as drug mules.  That's why you're here."

My heart sank to the floor.  I couldn't believe what I was hearing.  After all this time with Alec; all of the places we've seen and the memories we've experienced together.  All of it was just an act.  I couldn't believe it.  I wish I could spit in his sorry face.

"I can't fucking believe it.  He had me thinking I was his girlfriend all this time." I said aloud which made the man laugh again.  He was very amused by this whole thing which pissed me off.  "If Alec works for Cain then why did he beat him?"

"Because Alec took so long and when he found out about the amber alert it nearly blew his top off.  Cain has quite a temper.  You don't want to get on his bad side.  But you've already seen that." he said trailing off at the thought.

"Is Alec dead?" I was almost too scared to ask.  Even after all the fucked up shit Alec put me through, I had to make sure he was okay.  He was one of my only friends.  At least he used to be.

"Yeah, for now.  I think Cain had him locked in one of the rooms across the lot."

"Is there a way that I could see him?"

"Geese girl, are you trying to get me in trouble?  Did you see what he did to Alec?" I'm glad he thinks this is a game.

"If this Cain guy is such a bad man then why don't you guys just get rid of him?" I pouted.

"You can't just get rid of Cain.  He's like a virus." he smiled proudly to himself at the simile he made.

"Oh come on, if he's this big drug lord then why don't all of you just gain up and really blow his top off.  Just take him out.  Then you'll all be free." I explained like it was simple.

He starred at me for a minute processing the plan I had just thrown out in the open.  It seemed like he was actually considering it which freaked me out.

"Okay, but I need your help."

Fuck.  What did I get myself into?
