Marcie's POV:

I stared through the back window at the old, shabby house.  Before we pulled out of the drive, I left my fear in the tiny, little broken window that was now swallowing the snow that piled up from the wind.  It was hard to let go of something that protected me, but I watched anyway.  I watched as the old house slowly got smaller and smaller as we drove away.  Then it disapeared over the hillside.

I sat in Alec's 1975 red Chevy truck pinching my arm hard as we flew past speedlimit signs.  All of this felt like a good dream; I was almost expecting to wake up in Alecs dungeon once I pinched myself hard enough.  He seemed so different now; it was almost hard to believe he's the same person.  The Alec I once knew shoved me in a dark, cold room with no food or water.  He raped me and hurt me, no matter how much he doesn't want to admit it.  And now he's taking me on a wild adventure.  Maybe he's trying to make up for it.

"Oh I love this song!" he screamed and turned up the radio, startling me a bit.  I looked over to see him bouning in the drivers seat and bobbing his head; it was quite a site.

"Now we run, run away from the boys in the blue, and my car smells like chocolate." he sang with the beat.  It brought a smile to my face I must admit.  As uncomfortable as this trip was already making me, it was nice to see Alec acting so human.  I made a point to start talleying these events.

We drove for a couple hours down the country roads, passing farms and fields of hay and corn.  I wasn't sure where we were, or where we were going but for some reason I didn't care.  It was nice to just feel the wind through my hair, hear the sound of other cars and people.  I've been so isolated for so long, I was beginning to forget what it felt like to be on the outside world, free.

Alec finally took an exit; we drove for a few more miles before he pulled up infront of a little shopping mall.  I wasn't sure what we were doing but I was excited to get out and stretch a bit.

"What are we doing here?"  I wondered aloud as I opened the truck door and climbed out.

"I promised you a shopping spree didn't I?" he smiled at me and walked up to a tiny, little shop with flowers hanging in the window; I followed.  As he opened the door a little bell rung and we were greeted by a woman with blue and pink mermaid hair.  She seemed to be in her early twenties with piercings all over her face, but they seemed to add to her apperence.

"Hi guys!" she said with a smile and Alec smiled back at her while he walked me over to a rack of clothing.

"Whatever you like, babe." he stated as he showed me the clothes like Vanna White.  I couldn't help but smile, I never get to go shopping so this was a treat for me.  I was flipping through the clothes on the racks, singling out cute jumpers and leggings when the girl walked up to Alec.

"Can I help you find anything?" she asked him intently.  If I wasn't mistaken, this was a girls clothing store and I was the one shopping so it's beyond me why she asked him.

"Uh, no thanks she's just picking out a few things.  Were going on a road trip."  he said smiling at me which I returned.  The girl refused to look at me, she kept her gaze fixed on Alec which annoyed me a little.

"Well, my name is Lexi and I will be happy to answer any of your questions." she flashed her teeth at him as she touched his arm.  Bitch.  Alec smiled at her and thanked her.  I ain't gona thank no one.

"You know, if your looking for a place for the night there's a cute little Inn just down the road.  It's pretty cheap." she suggested to Alec as she got closer.  I tried to ignore her.  I just kept flipping through clothes, occasionally finding something cute and taking it down.
