Alec's POV:
I watched Marcie as she walked to the bathroom. She was gorgeous, any guy could see that. I made up my mind, when she came back I was going to tell her. 'Marcie, I didn't kidnap you because I'm evil. I kidnapped you because my boss is evil.' .. I was still working out the details. I went outside to smoke a quick cig; I needed one just about now, I was stressed the fuck out. I shielded the flame with my hand as I lit it and stuck it in my mouth, breathing in the toxins deeply and breathing them out relieved.
Suddenly I watched as a black van pulled up through the back alley of the cafe. Fuck. I watched Tyler and Hank climd out and walk briskly over to me.
"Hey guys, I was just about to head that way. I'm waiting for her, she's in the bathroom." I said rolling my eyes.
Hank revealed a bat from behind his back and swung it at the side of my face. Before I could even react, the bat met my skull and sent out splintering shots of pain through my whole body as I fell to the ground.
I woke up as I was being drug into a large warehouse style room. The heat hit me in the face as we entered through the double doors. Hank and Tyler dragged me by the arms half way through the room until they threw me at the feet of the boss man. I struggled to my feet before Cain swept me off the floor by my neck, taking the breath right out of me.
"Where is she?" Cains voice boomed in my ear as I choked in his grips. I was kicking around trying to find some sort of leverage to breathe. "I told you twenty-four hours!"
"She was with me, I swear!" I managed to choke out. "They just took me I didn't have a chance to-" Cain tightened his grip around my neck cutting my breath completely. I gripped his hand tight trying to find a breath. My head felt as if it was about to explode from the pressure. Suddenly, I heard a scream and a voice spoke out from the side of the room.
"We found her, sir." he said as my sight was beginning to fade. I began to see green and purple dots floating all around me and Cains face as I watched him turn his head.
Right before my eyes were about closed Cain dropped me to the floor and all the blood rushed back to my head as I choked for air. My eye sight was slowly coming back to me when I saw Marcie struggling, a couple guys holding down her arms and legs. Cain was already by her side and in his hand was a switch blade. My heart stopped. What is he doing? He told me that she'd just be carrying drugs across the country. Is he punishing her for my wrong doings?
"You said you wouldn't hurt her!" I managed to choke out as I tried to pull myself across the floor, forgetting my ribs were still broken. I flinched at the sharp pain of them grind against the floor. Marcie screamed out for me as I watched Cain cut her stomach wide open and shove a few small bags of coke into her abdomen. She was starring right at me, calling out for help. I couldn't help it I burst into tears as I forced myself across the floor in pain until I was yanked from the ground and drug off out of the room against my will. I listened to Marcie's screams suddenly stop.
"They're killing her!" I shouted and struggled to get away but the men just tightened their grip on my arms. They drug me into a new room where they ripped my shirt off and tied my wrists to a low beam in the middle of the room.
"Jackson!" I screamed as I saw him peer through the small window in the door. "Please! Help Marcie! Please!" I begged him as the large men began to whip me with long leather whips. I flinched at the cracking sound as it hit my skin. They surrounded me, Four or Five of them, lashing at me from all different directions. I screamed at the intense ongoing pain as Jackson just kept watching from the window. Why wouldn't he help Marcie? He's my best friend, fuck him for not helping her. He knows how much I like her but he just chooses to watch me get whipped. Fuck him.
I woke up slowly, realizing I was shackled up. My back stung every time it touched against the cold, damp wall. I looked around the dark room but could barely make out anything. There was a small, barred window on the door right across from me that shine line right on my face, the rest was just blackness. I couldn't even tell how big the room was. I began thinking of Marcie. I thought about all I did to get her here, and for what? So Cain can kill her. Even if she didn't die in that warehouse, she would definitely die once she got over seas. They'd cut her open to get all the drugs and just leave her to bleed to death. I had to stop them. I had to find her. I struggled to get loose but the chains were cutting into my wrists like razor blades. Think Alec, think. I've gotten out of situations like this before. Marcie's life depends on it. I began feeling around the floor with my feet, for anything I could use.
I was about to give up when I felt a loose stone in the floor. I use both of my feet to shimmy it out of its place. I might be able to find a way to bust the chains with the stone. I scoot the rock as close as possible, bend down until it felt like my arms are going to come out of their sockets and picked the rock up with my mouth. But something happened when I bent down. I noticed a small beam of light flash me in the eyes. I sit back up and it does it once again. There was something shiny on the floor, if I could only reach it. I stuck my leg way out into the room and started feeling around the cold floor. My heart raced as a felt a shard of glass poke me.
"Yes!" I whispered to myself, scooting the shard towards me almost slicing my toe open.
Some how I managed to get the chuck of glass in between my toes so I could hold it. I began rubbing it against the stone floor, shaving it to a sharp point. It seemed to take hours and I was very careful not to snap it into two. I raised it up with my foot as far as I could. It was inches away from the shackles but I couldn't stretch anymore.
"Come on, Alec. You have to do this."
I grabbed the shard with my left hand and bent and twisted my wrist for about ten whole minutes before I got it in the lock hole. Yes! I flicked it a couple times and the shackles made a small clicking sound as they flung open. Fuck yes! I rubbed my cut up wrists for a moment and crawled over to the door. I reached my arm through the barred window and felt for the lock, jamming the shard of glass inside in hopes that it didn't break.
"Hey! What are you doing?" A voice called out from one side of the hall.
Fuck.
I crawled back to the far wall and sat there panicked. Fuck. I blew my shot, fuck! I sat there for a moment and listened but no one opened the door. It was silent. Until I heard loud footsteps coming quickly down the opposite end of the hall. The lock jiggled on the door and then it swung open, smashing against the brick wall behind it.
"Do you have a death wish, boy?" a deep voice echoed through the room as they walked briskly over to me. I knew it was Cain. I knew his voice anywhere. He grabbed my neck so hard that my head smashed into the wall behind me as I choked out.
"Where's Marcie?" I asked
"Why, do you miss you're little girlfriend? Is that why you decided to play the escape game?" He clenched his fist tighter around my neck and got real close. "She's dead." he whispered in my ear. The words sent chills down my spine. She couldn't be. My eyes became faucets as Cain laughed in my face. He was evil. I've never met anything so evil.
"Now you get yours." he whispered again, letting my neck go as I gasped for air. Suddenly his fist came hurling at me and collided with my left eye so hard that I fell over into the ground. He got up off his knee and began kicking me in the stomach like a fifth grade bully. I choked and screamed as I felt my ribs re-braking in some spots but he just kept kicking me over and over, torturing me. The only reason he stopped was because someone came in.
"Boss, sorry to interrupt but we did you in the galley. It's important." a voice called out, saving me from Cain's brutal beating.
Cain quickly chained me back up and left, slamming the door behind him. I could barely breathe, my chest hurt so bad. My eye sight was going in and out and I could tell my head was bleeding badly. I didn't even care anymore. Marcie was gone. Because of me. I slouched down, letting the shackles hold all my weight when they popped off, sending me straight to the ground. I just laid there motionless. Cain must of been in a hurry and didn't lock them all the way. It didn't even matter now, there was no point. I laid on the cold, damp floor fading in and out of consciousness.
