Feels Like Heaven

Chapter 2 : Life, Certainly, Has Full of Surprises

Gerald is walking towards his first class when his best friend Fred approached him excitedly.

"Hey Ge, did you know that Sarah Geronimo will have a talk later at the ECON class of Mrs. Jacinto?"

"Oh ok." He shrugged. 

"What? That's your reaction?" Fred said seemingly shocked.

"Why? What's wrong? I don't care about that Sarah Geronimo." he said. But the truth is, he is her closet fan. He doesn't want to show it because he knows she's out of reach and he just wanted to ignore her admiration for her. But no matter how hard he tries, he can't really stop admiring her for her accomplishments at the age of 24. She graduated Business Administration with high  honors at University of Philippines at the age of 19. She may have a powerful father, but she still made sure that she establish her own name at the industry, and she did. At the age of 24, she has been one of the most prominent businesswoman in the Philippines. Besides of having the brains, Gerald also admired her looks and on how comfortable she looks when she's in front of people. Gerald was brought back into reality when Fred poked me.

"Huuuy. Are you ok? You seemed lost."

"Ah yeah, I'm just thinking if I missed something on our home work." Gerald lied.

"Oh, ok. Pero Ge, tell me the truth. I promise I would still be your friend but tell me, are you gay?" He asked.

Gerald's eyes went wide "Dude what are you talking about? Of course I'm not gay!" 

"Well, you don't have a girlfriend and you're not showing interest on the girls. They're almost in front of your face all the time, but you don't seem to notice them." Fred explained.

"It's not that I take no interest on girls, it's just.. I haven't find what I'm looking for." Gerald said.

"Wow. Bro, that is deep. You are so picky. Ikaw din baka tumanda kang binata nyan.." Fred joked.

Gerald laughed. "Well, if it's God's will then let it be. I just wanted to be sure that when I fall inlove, it would be at the right girl." 

"You're such a love sap. Tara na, we're going to be late."

After his 9AM class, Gerald and his friends went to the Library while waiting for Sarah Geronimo's talk. He really didn't want to go but his friends insisted him to come. After an hour, they all went to the auditorium and waited for the talk to start. The talk was entertaining and interesting. The talk was about to end when Gerald noticed something out of place. It's really unnoticeable, but he saw something is sparking somewhere at the back. 

Everything happened so fast. Gerald ran on the stage and tried to be a hero to the princess.

*KABOOM*

Unfortunately he was too late and both of them were caught in the explosion. Gerald was holding Sarah and they were thrown sideward by the explosion. Both were unconscious and hardly breathing when the medics arrived.

Up in Heaven...

"Billy Joe" a voice said.

"Yes, Big Bro?" Billy answered.

"What the hell happened in earth? That was not supposed to happen!" Big Bro was furious. The accident was planned but Sarah and Gerald was supposed to get out before the explosion takes place. It should be a typical hero and damsel in distress kind of meeting.

"I'm sorry Kuya, Zaijan and I miscalculated the time of explosion. Gerald was too slow. Tsk." Billy explained while looking down in embarassment.

"Enough! Fix this! OR I shall demote you!" Big Bro threatened.

"Yes Kuya." Billy answered dejectedly then turned to Zaijan. "This is your fault."

"What? You were the ---" Zaijan wasn't able to finish what he was supposed to say because Billy covered Zaijan's mouth with his hands.

Somewhere near Heaven's Gate

Sarah woke up comfortable. She is lying on somewhere soft and huggable which is weird. She hardly remembers being this comfortable even in her own room. She opened her eyes and saw a man whose shock is evident in his eyes.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" they both yelled and immediately released their entangled arms.

"Who are you? Why are you hugging me? You're a maniac aren't you!" Sarah accused him.

"What? Grabe ka! Maybe you're the maniac!" Gerald yelled.

"What? HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME LIKE THAT?! Do you know WHO I AM?" 

"Of course, you're Sarah Geronimo, the princess of the Philippine Business Industry ~"  Gerald mockingly said.

"Heyyy, you --" 

Gerald back-hugged Sarah but covered her mouth to shut her up before she could continue ranting.

"Wait. Can you shut up for a minute? Where are we?" Gerald looked at his surroundings, everything was white, it was almost the same as nothingness. Then he saw something shining. "Look, there's something shining there. Let's go there?" He was still holding her so she just nodded. "Okay, but please shut the hell up. I don't know where we are, and I don't like it. I wanted to go home as much as you do, so please, let's just help each other instead of fighting. Okay?" She nodded again. He carefully released her but as soon as she was released, Sarah's palm landed on his face.

"THAT IS FOR BEING TOO HARSH AT A GIRL!" Sarah yelled then went to the direction of the shining thing.

"Okay maybe I deserved that." Gerald mumbled while rubbing his cheeks. He ran after her and caught up with her.

As soon as they reached the gate, which is the shining thing, they saw a beautiful lady in white.

"Good morning I'm Toni, your very own Gate Keeper. Welcome to Heaven's Gate! Please give me your full name so I could tell you if you could enter." She asked looking at them.

"Uhm, excuse me beautiful Miss, but did I hear you right? We're in heaven? Is this a joke?" Gerald asked.

"Ha, bolero!" Sarah Huffed.

"Don't be jealous babe." Gerald joked.

"BABE ka dyan! KAPAL!" 

"You know I thought you were nice, masungit ka pala. Tsk." Gerald said.

"Eh kasi naman ang Kapal ng Muka mo!" 

The bickering continued until they heard Toni shout/sing. 

"STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP! In the name of love.. Before you break my heart.. STOP! Just tell me your names so we could be get over with this."

"Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo." 

"Gerald Randolph Opsima Anderson."

Toni was about to look at the Gigantic Book of Naughty and Nice when suddenly it hit her and remembered them. She knew who they are because their future loveteam was famous in Heaven. 

"Oh, you two are famous here. I wasn't advised that I'll see you already. Tsk. Huli na ako sa latest chikka. Anyway, just seat first at the reception area while I look for your names." she said.

The two just looked at each other and shrugged and seated at the sofa and watched Television. At first they thought it was just an ordinary TV show or movie, but not long after, they realized it was what happened before they got there. Memories of what happened came flooding to them. They looked at each other afterwards when...

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" Toni exclaimed.

Toni rushed to their sides and explained that they were not supposedly dead yet. This is a new case for her so she didn't know what to do. She's panicking when suddenly a man appeared near the gates. 

"Ahem." Billy cleared his throat and all attention was in him. "Well, in behalf of Heaven, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience. However, we couldn't bring you back yet due to technical difficulties. So for now, you guys follow me."
