Chapter 13 : Later Insensitive

At the Men's Cottage.....

Gerald stood at the balcony of their cottage. He couldn't understand how he's feeling these things. He felt like crying due to confusion. He knows there's that nice warm feeling inside him, he just couldn't figure out how he could unleash that feeling. He wanted to love her and be happy with her. It just sucks he couldn't. He wanted to be patient with his own feelings to take things slow, and maybe after a while, he could be able to love her again. But at the same time, he fears he would end up hurting her. It's been more than six months, and his heart is making very little progress. How long would he wait? Will he really be able to love her and make her happy again? Or will he be able to love her never again? These thoughts kept bugging him all night.

He went back inside and saw Billy and Zaijan discussing some things. He lied down his bed and stared at the ceiling for a while. The two were still talking but immediately stopped when Gerald spoke up.

"I'm ending this madness..." Gerald said.

"What do you mean?" Zaijan asked.

"I'm quiting showbiz... I'm quiting my teamup with Sarah... I'm setting her free..." 

"You know you couldn't do that. You have a contract -" Zaijan tried to remind him about the business.

"Cut the crap Zaijan, you know you could terminate the contract without legal issues. You could always tell I'm going for a vacation! And  we both know that this "Heaven Records" is just a big practical joke to Sarah's life. We also know that the more she spends time with me, the more she falls in love with me. And I couldn't allow that. I couldn't let her fall for me while I couldn't love her back. I couldn't do that to her! So I better end this before it's too late!" with that Gerald walked out the door.

"But..." Zaijan wanted to run after him but Billy grabbed his shoulders and shook his head.

"Kuya knows what he's doing. Gerald will find his peace, and this has to happen before he finally gets his heart back." Billy said and smiled sadly at Zaijan.

Somewhere in the beach... 

*music starts..

Gerald is walking quietly at the beach contemplating.

Gerald's starts to sing Fra lippo lippi's "Later"*

He continues to walk in the beach while the sun is starting to rise.  *Gerald Emo mode on ala Music video*

When you knew all along that you had to go

How could you watch me sleep close to you

Pretending not to know

 How could you memorize my name

And forget who I am

How could you think you're still the same

Believing I can

It's too late to start pretending

It's too late for a new beginning

Later than the sunset

Later than the rain

Later than never

To love you again

The sun has already risen, Gerald decided to have one last look at Sarah before finally saying goodbye. He saw Sarah smiling brightly jumping up and down. Excited for a new day. He smiled slightly before totally walking away.
