Chapter 8 : The Record Deal

At Sarah's Hotel Room....

Sarah went to her room and prepared herself for the press conference. Her stylist was already there.  While her hair and make up is being done, she couldn't help but think about the event that happened earlier. She thought that those eyes were like a magnet. She couldn't look straight at him without staring so long. It's like those eyes are telling her something that she couldn't pin point. But she also saw the emptiness on those eyes. Like something is missing.

She sighed annoyed with the unexplained emotions, why am I thinking about him anyway...

She dismissed the thought and focused on preparing herself on facing the public again. She'll be going back as the princess again, although this time, she'll be trying out a new path. Something she truly love. She just hoped that the people would accept the new her. 

Billy arrived shortly after she finished dressing up. He briefed her on the possible questions the media would be asking. When their topic arrived at her "savior" she began yammering about how pathetic he was. But Billy warned to be nice about him especially they'll be having a colaboration together.

"What?!" Sarah reacted clearly ticked off.

"I said, you'll be having a colaboration together." Billy repeated.

"I heard you the first time. But why do we need a colaboration? I thought I'm going to be a solo artist?!"

"He's also going to be a solo recording artist, and we want to test the water first. And we thought it would be also a good start for you entering the industry. "  Billy explained calmly.

"Why him?" Sarah asked.

"Because you have a history together. And people have been waiting for the both of you to be together since a hero-princess is an interesting team-up."

"So we're going to be teamed up together?!"

"I'm sorry Sarah, but we have to give what the people want. You are going into a new industry, you have to understand, we need a foundation, and Gerald is a perfect start." 

Sarah just sighed in frustration. She knew Billy's right. But she couldn't help be ticked off that she'll be spending much time with that jerk.

The press conference went smoothly. The press people are nice and it seemed that they liked the idea of the princess being in showbizness. Like expected, they've been bombering her questions about her love life and about her "savior". She answered all the questions truthfully and nicely. 

"Sarah, what do you think of Gerald Anderson?" one of the press people asked.

"I haven't really met him yet, so I don't want to judge him beforehand." she said biting her lip trying to supress the annoyance.

"Do you think you can fall in love with him?"

Sarah just giggled. It's what she does when she's uncomfortable with the questions. She just laugh. "I don't know. Like what I said, haven't really met him personally."

The questions about Gerald went on and on. As the press conference came to an end, the press people requested for a sample song, so they would be seeing what she could offer. She looked at Billy and he nodded. She stood up and went in front. She sang Celine Dion's "Taking Chances".
