Chapter 15 : Going Back to the Start

In ABS-CBN... 

Sarah is walking in the hallways for their ASAP rehearsals. It's been a month since her public admission that Paulo Avelino is indeed her boyfriend. Many people were thrilled, but there were some disappointed. There are still people who wanted her to end up with a certain mestizo named Gerald Anderson. She's one of those people. In that almost three months being Paulo's girlfriend, she still couldn't forget Gerald. She doesn't know why. She didn't even know how did she fell in love with that jerk. 

She was busy with her thoughts that she didn't see the wall. She bumped her head hard that it made her feel dizzy and fall out of balance. Good thing someone had caught her. She looked up at her savior and saw a bearded bandit, the bandit who stole her heart. She wasn't sure if she was just a product of her imagination or it was really Gerald that she saw. Her eyes fluttered for a moment before falling into unconsciousness. 

She woke up with a splitting headache, and she realized she was lying in a couch. She tried to comprehend what happened first and when she remembered she tried to look for Gerald. She tried to look around and saw nobody but a concerned Toni and Zaijan looking at her. She is apparently in her dressing room. It was a pang in her heart that Gerald was not there.

"How did I get here?" She asked softly.

"Your savior brought you here." Toni said, emphasizing the word "savior". 

I wanted to believe that she is talking about Gerald, but she doesn't want to get her hopes high.

"And he wanted you to have this..." Zaijan said giving me a bouquet of yellow roses with a note:

Ms Damsel in Distress,

They say yellow roses means friendship and new beginning, while 15 roses means "I am truly sorry, Pls forgive me?" So what I'm really trying to say here is..

I'm really sorry for being a big jerk and can we be friends again?

 Sarah couldn't help but smile a little. But she couldn't help feel disappointment.

"He just wanted to be friends." Sarah whispered to herself. It hurt her that he didn't feel the same way, but she wanted to slap herself for feeling this way. She is in a relationship, for goodness sake.

Gerald  was on his way back into the studio for his ASAP rehearsals when he saw her on a deep thought. He got a call this morning from the management that he had to go back to work if he didn't want to be sued. Apparently, he still have a contract with ABSCBN, and yes a real one. So he didn't have a choice but to go back to work. 

When he saw her, his heart stopped. The pain was overflowing inside him. He wanted to run away, but then he saw her bump at the wall hard.

"How do you manage to always get into trouble?" He asked her as soon as he caught her.

He didn't expect the response she got from her. She stared at him for a few seconds smiling then her eyes fluttered and fell into unconsciousness. My heart fell into panic, and immediately checked her pulse. It was incredibly fast. I was supposed to call for an ambulance when I saw Billy. He told me to bring her in dressing room and they'll be the one treating her. Thank God for these Guardians! Gerald thought to himself.

He lay her in the couch. He stared at her for a minute and he couldn't help but feel at peace with himself. He smiled a little. It's confusing how his heart works when it comes to her. Sometimes it feels at peace, sometimes he felt like he just wanted to remove it and throw it away for too much pain. He was about to leave when Zaijan arrived with a bouquet of yellow roses. I greeted him with a nod. He placed the bouquet of roses at Sarah's dresser then he gave Gerald a post it and a pen.
