Nick pulls up to this private drive in. I look beyond the glass and smile, Nick smiles back at me. "This is beautiful," I said covering my mouth in awe. I slowly turn to him. "W-why...how?" He smiles, "you love movies I love you...so I wanted you to enjoy the movies because you didn't really get to enjoy the movies on our actual first date." I laugh before hitting his chest playfully. Pulling him by his shirt I kiss him gently. He creases my cheek. "I love you." I nod, "I know." He plants his forehead onto mines before I laid my head onto his chest and my favorite movie played. Not even ten minutes into the movie he got a call. I looked down to see it was Sara. He heavily sighs and answers. "Sorry."-
I shake my head and gesture him to answer.
Nick- Hey
Sara- Where are you? You know it's your day
Nick- I know but I told you I was taking Aria out
Sara- Oh...well I forgot! Look I need a break can you just...please I need this
Nick- Ugh fine I'll be there in ten
Sara- Thanks
Nick- Bye
He looks at me, "I'm sorry I."-
"It's fine. Arron comes first." I interrupt him. "So you can just drop me off at the diner I'll catch a ride from the bus stop." He tilts his head. "Buttercup."
"Nick." He starts the car and pulls off. Once he had dropped me off I had my jacket in one hand and my pride in the other. I sit down past an old couple and sit down by the counter and lay my head down. "You look nice for a school night." I slowly look up. "Not now," I say with a frown. "What happened?" I laugh, "nothing."
"You can't always hold your feelings in." I nod, "you can't either but that's not my business." He sighs before pouring me a drink. "Oh, but how's your night going?" I ask. "Pretty fine now that you're miserable." I pout, "I'm glad my misery amuses you. I don't even see why I came here." I take a sip before I get up and leave but Jake follows me. "Aria, wait I was just kidding." I roll my eyes. "whatever." He grabs my arm and turns me around. "It's dark out and I'd be damn if Nick blames me for having you walk alone at night."
"He won't because I was supposed to catch the bus. And it sounds like you're making excuses for not caring about me." Jake wipes his face. "Go back to work this doesn't concern you." He frowns. "Why didn't you ask him to take you home?" I sigh, "do I have to explain this every."-
"Time...I don't like seeing him with Sara but she probably feels the same...but whatever." He mocks. "What? I wasn't going to say that... And I do not sound like that." He crosses his arms. "At least I'm not Mr. Tough guy who pretends not to have feelings. Which we all know you do." I said as he looks down at me. "You still wanna go there?" I step forward showing him that I was willing to go there. "Pretty much...I mean I get it, you loved Vanessa and you always will but I can help you find someone else."
"What if I already found her?" I gasp, "ooh who?" I ask smiling. "Aria?" I turn my head. "Why do you keep popping up in my life?" I question, "I was picking up dinner for your aunt...mom and."-
"She's my aunt not my mom! She gave me up so she lost that right. Go get your food and stay out of my business."-
"Aria," Jake says. "What? Oh, I'm...nothing...I'm just gonna walk home."
"No, I'll take you home," Jake says. "No, I'm fine...I can walk." I said. "hey why do you have to be so stubborn?"
"Go back to work." Jake heavily sighs before picking me up and carrying me to his car. "Put me down!"
"You rather want to have me take you home or him. Now get in the damn car." He says putting me down. "Fine, you didn't have to pick me up like that." I climb in. "Yeah, I did." He starts to drive. "Thanks," I mumble. "You're welcome."
When he pulled up to my house, I looked across the street where Nick stood outside holding Arron. "You gotta get used to it someday." I pout, "I don't wanna." Jake laughs. "What are you five?" I shrug, "maybe, not." I climb out and close the door. I really tried to rush into the house before he could see me. "Aria?" I slowly turn around. "Nick...hi." I laugh awkwardly as I yell across the street. "Who dropped you off at home?"
"Jake." Nick looks at Arron as he walks to his car. "Since when are you two cool?" I sigh, "it's pity really." Nick puts Arron in his car seat and buckles him up. "Doesn't seem like it."
"Look he understands me," I said looking away. "And I don't?" I shrug, "you weren't...you wouldn't understand." I rub my arm. "What? That you used to cut yourself." I huff, "yes."
"I've noticed and I'm curious to know why. Your life is great...who could make you do that?" I laugh, "see you don't understand." Nick wipes his face. "Then enlighten me." He says frantically running his hand through his hair. "I cut myself because I couldn't take it...I was being tortured and you ignored me. I had no friends I blamed myself for my parent's death and to top it all off my aunt is my mother and I'm apparently a mistake."
"W-why didn't you come to me?" He asks, "I did but you wouldn't listen you'd ignore me like I didn't exist and with everyone torturing me I wished I hadn't." He looks at me. "I'll see you tomorrow...or never."
"Wait are you breaking up with me?" I shrug unsure. "I don't know, but Nick take care of that boy...make sure he doesn't turn into another you." I smile and walk into my house.
