I bounce up and down slowly and gently since little baby Arron is laid fast asleep in my arms. "He's so cute," I whisper. Nick smiles, "ha, I feel like any day now you're gonna ditch me for him." I shrug, "I might." I slowly set him down in his crib on his back. His parents built Arron his own nursery. Nick wraps his arms around my waist. "Come on Nick not I front of the baby." I said softly, "yeah please don't wait until I go downstairs." Ivy says walking past the room. I giggle inside my mouth. Nick guides me to his room and I close the door behind us. "Aria...are you sure you wanna play this game?" I slip my dress off. "I'm pretty sure." He picks me up and plants me onto the bed. Midway through our session baby Arron stopped our play. I push Nick off me and get dressed.
"Aria where are you going?" He asks, "to check up on the baby, duh." He nods licking his lips," right." I nod and leave the room. "Oh, Aria."-
"Mrs. Lockwood." She gives me a look. "Sorry...Mrs...I mean Elena how are you?" She quickly pulls me in for a hug. "Oh, I'm uh fine." Her slender figure pulls away from me. "That's good well I have to go check on Arron." She nods.
"I wish it was you...no offense." I chuckle, "what do you mean?" I ask. "To have the baby and not Sara. And I'm glad you're okay...what happened to you was."- She says. "I love Nick so yea." Both Elena and I enter the nursery.
"Hi, Arron...what's wrong?" I coo at him before picking him up. "You're just tired aren't you? Yeah." I slowly pat Arron's back. "Have you held him yet?" She shakes her head. "Would you like to?" She nods getting ready to grab him. "Hi, sweetie." She says as she holds him. "Aria I got this go." I exit out of the room. I slowly shut the door completely unaware of who I was about to see next. "Aria." I frown, "what the hell are you doing here?" Nick opens his door. "Oh yeah, I forgot...to tell you guys we have schedules. Arron is from 12-whenever he falls asleep. Aria is from 9-5 and Jake is from 5-9."
Frankly, I can say I was upset but I didn't want to show it. "Okay...fine. But let's just say you're missing out." I said before walking off. "Missing out on what?" Jake asks, "Jake get your head back in the game. You are losing your ways." Jake sighs, "whatever."
"I'm home." Isaac sits in the kitchen reading a book. "Where's Ester?" I ask. "She's still at work." I sit by the table across from him. "How was pretending to be a mom?" I frown. "It was fine until he told me that I'm on a schedule and Jake happened to be on it." Isaac laughs. "Why are you laughing?"
"No...I just thought you two had this connection." I laugh. "Who Jake, he's just my friend. He and I have no connection whatsoever."-
I pause. "But what?" He asks dropping the book on the table. "He...he saved my life.""How? Were you?"-
"I tried to kill myself and he was there and he stopped me...why I don't know but he did." I frantically brush my hair from out of my face. "Well has it ever occurred to you that he likes you?" I laugh. "Isaac I believe not." He sighs, "well just to tick off your m...Ester, I'll root for you and Jake." I roll my eyes. "You guys and these shipments. And it's never gonna happen because I love Nick...who has a kid and an annoying ex. But I guess I'll play the kill with kindness act."
Isaac grins, "now your thinking like your dad." I roll my eyes. "Alright, I'm gonna go do my homework." I get up, "oh and happy early birthday...I got you something."
"Why?"
"I'm leaving tomorrow and."-
"No why buy me anything I was rude to you." He laughs, "it's not to buy your love but it's a truce." I nod and walk upstairs into my room and gaze upon my favorite book of all time the great Gatsby. "Thanks!" I yell.
The next day I entered school with Nick by my side and Vanessa on the other. "So I was thinking we should go out to eat for my birthday."
"Sorry I can't...it's my day to watch Arron again." I turn to Vanessa. "Yeah, I have a date sorry." I frown. "Well, that's okay. You two have fun." I smile as Nick kisses my forehead. "That's my girl, always sacrificing her happiness for everyone else, happy birthday." He walks off. Meanwhile Sara and Jake stand near their classroom chatting. "So you want me to pretend to be your boyfriend just to make Nick jealous and break them up again?" Sara nods. "Heh, what do I have to lose?" As I walk down the hall Jake takes Sara by surprise and plants a kiss upon her lips. I stop in mid-walk to capture the moment. "Was Nick...oh I see." Sara turns to me. "Sorry." I quickly race off. "Excuse me...Aria wait up!"
Sara grabs me and turns me around. "Don't touch me." I said, "Aria its okay...I won't use that against you." I laugh uncontrollably. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Seriously Aria? Know what never mind, oh and by the way happy birthday."
I sit at the diner starring deeply out the window sad and a little annoyed. I tuck my bang behind my ear. I turn my head as a bowl of ice cream was placed in front of me. "Happy birthday," Jake says. He hands me a spoon and sits down. "So you and Sara?" I ask, "is there a problem?" I laugh before tasting the vanilla sprinkled ice cream. "Nope...by the way thanks." He nods. "Yeah, consider that as a pity birthday gift." I nod, as he takes a bite of his own. "Hey! This is my ice cream!" I snap. "Yea the ice cream I made for you." I laugh, "touché." I said with a small smile. "Exactly anyways as much as I enjoy watching you in misery I have to go back to work." Jake salutes me before walking off.
