We lined up, the groomsmen and bridesmaid. The one I happened to be lined up with was Nick. Arms locked with tension hitting me hard in the back I try to breathe. "Are you sure you want to leave?" I whisper. "Quiet you, Aria." Elena scolds me. "Yup." I look down. "Okay...well I wish you the best of luck. I honestly do."
"Aria shush! Anyways go, quietly, do not trip." She leads us down the aisle and towards our spots. Longingly I stare at Nick who seems to not notice me before looking back at the ceremony. "I couldn't help but notice you staring at Nick." I laugh, "Shh." Elena says. "We'll talk later," Elena says.
After the wedding, Elena pulled me aside from all the commotion. "So, what happened with you and Jake?" I laugh. "Oh, you didn't hear? We broke up...I think." He nods, "that explains why he isn't here and I saw him run off with Vanessa." I take aback by how fast he moved back to her. Then again that was his first love and I was a replacement to fill his empty hole in his heart. I shrug it off. "Good for them. They deserved each other." Elena crosses her arms. "I'm serious. I love him. I will always love him but not as much as I love Nick. And I chased him away. Anyways don't spend much time with me...go enjoy your family." Taking my hand and giving it a tight squeeze she smiles, "you are family Aria."
Smiling I respond, "thank you but I would've been...but that's history now." I said sorrowfully, rolling my eyes I sigh, "you should've told him." With a nod, "I should've but I value his happiness more than mines. And I don't want him to see me as the girl who held him back." I exclaimed. "You're not holding him back, he loves you and you love him. I'm sure you'll find your way back to each other, I promise you." Elena says, before walking away and I draw my attention towards Isaac and Ester who faces are glued together with passion.
"Eww, I'm gonna go barth now." Both laugh as I run off in terror. "I wish we were a family...a real one. Isaac, do you ever wonder what our life would've been like if I kept her and told you about her?" Ester asks. "Yes I do and it would've been perfect." She embraces him with a kiss.
"Carson." Raising an eyebrow he rubs the back of his neck nervously. "H-How did you sleep?" I stutter. I began to laugh, "I'm just kidding." He chuckles. "You know that don't you?" I nod, "this town talks."-"Jake I...Aria." I smile, "look I."-
"He was your first everything Vanessa don't apologize to me. Be happy for once. You deserve your happy ending. Now if you excuse me I'm gonna go stare out into the distance and wait until it rains." I said, "you're joking?" I nod, "sort of." I laugh before actually walking back to my hotel room.
Slipping off my heels I turn to the lights and check my phone. Damn, I left without grabbing any cake.Once I've rushed back Trying not to be seen I hurtle towards the cake table and stole a slice. While walking out I turn with a small malicious grin and walked away. I was proud of the outcome, rushed or not, I guess you can learn to let your guard down a bit. I had people who cared about me surrounding me and I took some of them for granted. I had a man teach me how to be free and to love and I let him get away. Who's to say I should've gone after him? But that would've required me to be bitter and cruel he shouldn't be wasting his time on trying to wait for me to tell him the truth, that I loved him.
Nick climbs out of his limo, adjust his suit and turns to face Danielle, "I hope you're sure you want to be with me?" She asks stepping out on the other side. "It's not like it I have any choice." He mumbles, looking down at her feet she sighs, "I'm sorry." She says, "no you're not." Nick spat. "Don't be like that I'm."-
"I do not know if what you say is true, and if it is not, I will make sure my goal to find a way to get back to her." Danielle laughs, "oh please, I didn't just make this deal out of spite I did it because I want to be on top. You've made your bed and now you're gonna lie in it." Twitched eye he grabs his bags and heads towards the plane. "You."- Nick says. "Oh, you thought you saw the last of us didn't you?" The voice asks. "She trusted you! And you!"- He paused.
"Poor Aria," Vanessa says looking over at me. "Hey, she told us not worry about her, this is our ending." He said directing her attention towards him. "But."- he shakes his head. "Me and you Vanessa." He says before pecking her cheek. "But."-
Jake breathed heavy in frustration. "Yes?" Jake asks almost annoyed. "You weren't the only one with a secret."- Jake turns to the empty hall. "What happened?"
"You know that week Aria went MIA?" Jake nods spinning her around. "Well, it's because she had a miscarrige." Wide-eyed he pulls her in close. "She told me not to tell anyone, and now I'm trusting you to be quiet." Jake smirks, "I promise, but I guess since we're all being honest and telling secrets. I know why Nick is gone."
Jake dips her, "why?" She whispers. "Because he found out he married Danielle signing papers she handed him, while he was drunk."
Sitting the contemplating I took a bite out of the yellow and chocolate cake, frosted in white and coated with blue. I'm surprised I didn't pull out a cold drink right about now, but I'm better than that, that's why. Looking up at the stars I try fighting that one tear. "Don't cry," I uttered to myself, but ultimately my urges overcome my wishes and they weren't just sadness, it was epic happiness. I came into their lives as they came into mine, I'm happy. I begin to laugh as I see fireworks.
While shoving my hand into my pocket I come across a piece of paper and pull it out, opened it, I read, I still love you.
"Aria, where are you going? Get back here!" My mother yelled.
"You embarrassed me! I wasn't doing anything wrong I was just having fun!" I yell.
"Do not raise your voice to your mother like that young lady."
Rolling my eyes almost whining I scream. "Get in the car or so...you'll be grounded, young lady!"
Huffed I give in by getting into the car. "I hate both of you, know that right?" Both shaking their heads I sighed.
"such a disappointment! She snuck out."-"Marlon watch out!" My mother screams. The headlights blind me and the heading of the road, "are you alright?"
"Aria?" Turning to face Isaac I watch as he sits down next to me. "You okay?" Wiping my tear I smile, "yes."
