Nick stands by my locker, glaring at it as if it had done something to him. Vanessa walks over to him along with Sara. A hand rests on his shoulder. "She'll come back." Nick shrugs. "No... I'm fine. Now I know." Vanessa smirks, "yeah but she really loves you." Vanessa walks away and to her little group of friends. "So how's homecoming looking?" She asks. "Pretty good...hey did you hear that Aria ran away?" One of her friends asks. "I know her aunt told me." Vanessa makes her way over to Jake who staring intently at his phone, in the other hand is still clutched in a cast. "Jake?" Jake's buried face sprouts upward looking at her. "Oh sorry hey." Jake tucks his phone in his pocket. "It's only been a week."
Jake laughs, "I don't miss her I just need someone to bug." She smiles, "you can bug me." He smirks. "Sure...but by any chance did she."-
"She's visiting family she'll be back by the end of the day."-
"Or now," Jake says interrupting her. Vanessa turns her head to me elegantly gliding down the hall. My fluffy skirt flowing rubbing up against my wrist and my smile alarmed everyone. "I thought she ran away."
"I thought she was pregnant." I rolled my eyes at the stupidy of my classmates. "Aria?" Sara says stepping in my way. "Nice heels, where were you? Nick was worried." I chuckled, "oh he was, he? Or were you worried you had no one else to bug?" Sara huffs, "whatever bye." I laugh and walk over to Vanessa. "Hey, guys." Jake walks away. "What's his problem?" Vanessa shrugs. "Good thing you're here I'm pretty sure they've ran out of ideas on what to do with me." She says sarcastically. "I'm sure they didn't." I hug her. "Thanks for not telling them where I really was." She nods, "of course that's what best friends are for." She squeezes me. "But next time you do that I'm letting you deal with the aftermath."
I roll my eyes as we pull away. "Oh, I can handle my Romeo." She rolls her eyes. "I'm actually talking about your best friend." I roll my eyes again. "He doesn't care does he?" She nods, "well then." I slowly turn around. "Wish me."- I turn to find Vanessa running off. "So much for support!"
"I still love you!" I look down at my heels before looking up at Nick who's hands are shoved into his pockets. "You look nice." I curtsy, "thank you, your grace." He smirks, "but all jokes aside don't do that again." I nod, "I just needed to clear my head. I hope you can understand that?" He laughs, "whoa that's great." I shrug, "take it how you want to...but I really was clearing my head and hanging out with family." He nods, "New York?" I nod, "I wish I could go there." He smiles, "maybe I'll take you."
"Or Sara and your son." He sighs, "so we're back to that?" I nod, "she loves you and you love her." I exclaim. "Loved past tense. And all though we have a kid together doesn't mean we have to be together." He explains to me the basic ways of loving someone. "Aria I love you...and I want to be with you." I laugh, "right now?" I ask. "Yes, right now." I cross my arms. "Okay by doing what?" I ask before he plants his lips up against mines, Nick takes my hand and guides me to class.
As I carried my duffle bag out to the great wide open space we call the outdoors I set my bag down. "So we wear heels now?" I look over at miserable broken armed Jake. "So we're talking now?" He looks away. "Never mind." He mumbles. "Why do you hate me... I mean I know why but...that's old so what's new?"
He chuckles, "go away I'm trying to watch practice." I step in his view. "Aria." I cross my arms. "Fine because you...I...you keep playing with Nick's emotions." I laugh, "you know for a bad guy you sure do lie lousy." He puts his hand on his heart. "Oh, I'm so crushed."
"Babe." Nick jogs over to me, turns me around and embraces me with a quick passionate kiss. "Mm...Nick not in front of grumpy pants over here." Jake looks away. "What are you two talking about?" Nick asks. "I wanted to sign his cast." I steal a sharpy from Jake's book bag and sign his cast. "See you later." I kiss Nick before walking off. "Stay away from her."
"I'm trying...but I guess she can't resist." Nick laughs, "you hurt her, how could she ever like let alone love a monster like you." Nick spat. "Be careful." Jake says, "or what?" He asks. "Oh, we both know. You used to be the monster. And I don't want your sloppy seconds."
"Wow." I said, "Aria...I didn't."- I take my bottle of water and splashes it onto Jake's face. "Whoa." Nick grins, "your welcome." When I arrived at my house, "Aria." I smile, "Ester, Isaac." I nod in a respectful gesture. "How was therapy?" Ester asks. "Oh, it was great. Thanks for sending me there. I feel much better." I smile. "Anything to add Isaac or can I go?"
"It's dad." I roll my eyes. "What? I didn't even know you existed and I want to get."-
Ester pats his hands for him to stop talking. "Baby steps." I said, "but...oh well okay." I nod, "starting now...what's for dinner?" I ask. "Chicken and rice." I shrug, "fine by me... let's do this."
