"Hey princess," Nick says as I stare blankly down the hall. "I'm not your princess." I snap, "damn is your bra on to tight?" I sigh, "leave me alone." Nick cuts in front of me and touches me. "Okay what's wrong?" I bite my lip. "Are you asking me this because you care or because you hate to see a girl cry?" He chuckles, "you know me so well...how do you do it?" I shrug, "easy we...you're typical."
"And you're not?" I shrug, "I bet you stay at home watch movies and cry yourself to sleep at night because you're lonely."
"I rather be lonely than to feel lonely." He gasps, "wow that hurt." He sarcastically said. "Maybe you are better off with Sara you two are perfect for each other."
"Wait...what do you mean?"
I roll my eyes. "You know exactly what I mean."
At lunch, I sat in the library starring down at my book assignment with lust and aggression. Why me? Why now? "Hey, are you doing Mr. Larson assignment?" Jake asks sitting down from across me. "Aria." He says patting down on my book. My head gazes up at him, "oh I'm sorry...I'm just out of it." He nods, "I see." Jake says sarcastically. Meanwhile, Nick happened to walk past and see us talking. He stopped to watch. "Oh shut up." Jake sighs, "go ahead and tell me." I roll my eyes, "my...Isaac is dating my...Ester and he's technically still married. And the bitch showed up at the house and you know what I did?"
He smirks, "cried." I toss a paper at his chest. "No, I punched her cause she called my...Ester a bitch." He sighs, "you can't keep doing that you just have to accept the fact that she's your mom and he's your dad." I roll my eyes, "he likes you. He thinks I should date you." He smiles, "well you should...I'm way better than that rich boy. That and your dad has good judgement."
I lean forward, "is that so?" He nods. "So...Aria I was thinking since."-
"Hey, guys!" Nick says interrupting Jake.
''Shh!"
"Sorry, what are you two nerds talking about?" I lean back in my chair annoyed that Nick interrupted us, I believe that Jake was finally gonna make his move. "Nothing." Jake gets up and leaves. "Jake."-
"Okay." Nick sits down and smiles. "What do you want?"
"Nothing just checking up on the typical high school girl. That should be a nickname for you."
I smile, "and asshole should be yours." He sighs, "did I do something for you to hate me? Because I thought this was our thing."
"It was...and then we changed and."-
"You had feelings for me didn't you?" I nod, "I did...and...I got over them because I've realized I could never have you." I chuckle, "wow, oh...it's the kid isn't it?" He asks. "Nah...it was you...but mostly me. I tried to change you and shouldn't have done that. You're perfect the way you are and I don't deserve you...I don't deserve you...excuse me."-
I get up and run out of the library. As I do I notice Jake who was in the middle of talking to someone...a girl. "Hey, Aria? You okay?" I nod slowly. "Oh hey, Vanessa I was just I forgot my stuff in the library." I walk back to see Nick approaching me with my things. "Here."
"Thanks." He nods, "I'm sorry for what I said earlier I know can be an ass sometimes...but I guess that's our thing or it was." I smile, "it was...and you know as strange as it sounds but you know about the nickname thing?" He nods. "Yeah."
"Well, mines was buttercup." He laughs, "wh-what?"
"That's the name you gave me." He chuckles, "I see why."
"You're lying." He nods, "but if you like it I'll use it." I sigh, "but wait...what was mines?" He asks. "Think about Shakespeare." I take my things and leave him to think. As I made my way to my car I noticed that I forgot my notebook. "Looking for this." I turn to Jake who holds my notebook. "Oh uh, thanks." I take my notebook. "You okay?" I nod, "yeah I'm fine... Are you fine?" I ask.
"What do you mean?" I shrug, "you tell me."
"Are you sure you're okay?" I laugh, "I'm ecstatic." I climb into my car and drive off. "What just happened?"
"Jackson!" Nick calls out am dawdling towards Jake who stands in the midst of the busy parking lot. "You know I'm starting to sense something between you two." Nick says, "what no...I hate."-
"Don't lie to me," Nick says stepping into Jake's personal space. "I'm...not. I don't like her."
"Good because I like her and you know what happens when I like things." Jake chuckles, "see that was your downfall from the beginning. Aria is not just some toy or girl you play mind games with. She's different. And the last time you did that you almost lost her." Jake walks off.
It was at this time where I would have to face the music, luckily for me, Isaac wasn't there. I was looking forward to being petty. "Hey, Ester," I said closing the door. "Aria, hey Isaac told me you ran out of here...he said you were upset." I chuckle, "oh I was." I shake my head. "I'll let him tell you."
"No! You can't keep hiding things like this from me, forever." I nod, "I've done it for 18 years. So why stop now?" She frowns, "you're never gonna let that go?" I shrug decisively. "I don't know...sometimes I'd wish I hadn't gone to that party and that you weren't my mother!"
I storm upstairs. "Yeah well, I wish I hadn't had you!" She yells as is slam my bedroom door behind me. Motioning towards my bed. My movement stopped as soon as I caught eyes with Nick who was holding baby Arron. His chocolate brown eyes meet mines with lust. He winks with a firm smile and I close my blinds and plop into bed and I go to sleep.
